Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station likes Kyrie Irving the most in this tier, projecting him for 49 Draftkings points. Targeting point guards against the Spurs is something I’ve been doing all season and I won’t be stopping now. He has the best DvP% in the tier at 106.2% and I like him to take advantage of that here. Steph Curry should be returning after sitting out with rest last night, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed just in case. Trying to pick between Steph Curry and Kevin Durant is never easy, they’re both solid plays but predicting which one will have the better night can be difficult. I would try to even out the exposure on each of them, so you can cover both outcomes.

Tier Two:

The Domination Station has DeMar DeRozan projected to score the least amount of this tier and it’s not really close. DeRozan draws a really tough matchup against a tough Celtics team. He’s a fine GPP flyer, but not someone I’ll be actively targeting. Blake Griffin draws the best matchup here as the Warriors rank 29th in defense against opposing power forwards. He scored 41 Draftkings points in an earlier matchup against the Warriors this season. Julius Randle is coming off of close to 4 days rest here and should be well juiced to take on the Rockets front court. I like him here, but my favorite play is probably Andre Drummond, who scored 49.3 Draftkings points against the Warriors already this season.
Tier Three:

DeMarcus Cousins is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game so stay away from him unless we got other news. Clint Capela draws an excellent matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, who rank 26th in defense against opposing centers. De’Aaron Fox also draws a great matchup as the Lakers rank 26th against opposing point guards on the season. Of the two, I would probably prefer Fox. He has played three games against the Lakers already this season and is averaging 44.8 Draftkings points per game in those games. The Domination Station has Elfrid Payton projected for the least amount of points in this tier at 34.6. His triple-double streak came to an end last game after playing only 24 minutes. He gets a tough matchup against Chris Paul defense who is one of the best on ball defenders in the league. LaMarcus Aldridge is a fine play, but not someone I’m prioritizing tonight.
Tier Four:

Chris Paul and Klay Thompson project pretty similar at the top of this tier in the Domination Station. The both draw good matchups as their opponents rank below 20th against their respective positions. Buddy Hield draws the best matchup in this tier as the Lakers rank 27th in defense against opposing small forwards. However, Hield has struggled against the Lakers this season, only scoring 22 Draftkings points per game in three matchups. Kyle Kuzma is seeing 35+ minutes per game and is averaging 37 Draftkings points per game against the Kings this season. Rajon Rondo is a GPP play, as he’s too volatile for cash games. Marvin Bagley has been playing great basketball as of late, he’s gone over 35 Draftkings points in four straight games. He feels like a very safe option given the matchup.

Tier Five:

With DeMarcus Cousins doubtful, Draymond Green may end up playing some center minutes. He doesn’t get an easy matchup against the Pistons front court, however. I will likely fade Green in this spot. Jason Tatum will play around 35 minutes tonight against a Spurs team that has struggled against power forwards on the season. Willie Cauley-Stein draws the best matchup of the tier as the Lakers rank 29th in defense against opposing centers. However, his minutes are a little sporadic with Marvin Bagley back in the lineup, making him a GPP only play. The Domination Station likes JaVale McGee the most here, he’s also coming off a career game in which he scored a massive 72 Draftkings points. He won’t repeat that performance, but he is certainly in play in this tier. Derrick White, Marcus Morris, and Rudy Gay are all secondary options here, but I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to get GPP exposure. Harrison Barnes gets a good matchup against the Lakers and is in play here as well.
Tier Six:

The final tier is full of a bunch of ugly options. This is where I turn to the Domination Station for guidance on where to start. The one player I think we can cross off is Wayne Ellington who isn’t even projecting for 20 Draftkings points. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Eric Gordon draw the best matchups and are two of the top plays in this tier. Eric Gordon is probably my favorite option, he is averaging 26.3 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Pelicans so far this season. He will also see a good chunk of minutes, whereas guys like Bjelica and Ellington won’t see as many. Frank Jackson is seeing a ton of minutes lately, but may draw some Chris Paul defense which makes me a little hesitant, but he’s certainly playable given the choices here. Nemanja Bjelica is coming off a 47 point fantasy outing, he’s too volatile for cash games but is definitely in play for GPP. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will continue to see good minutes as the season comes to an end. He needs to shoot well in order to perform well, making him a nice GPP play. Marcus Smart and Reggie Jackson are fine plays, but nobody that I’m forcing in.
