DFS Madness's Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups for Draftkings - Mar. 23rd, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station has Karl-Anthony Towns projected for the most fantasy points here. He has gone for 50+ in five of his six recent games, however, is only averaging 43 Draftkings points per game in three matchups versus the Grizzlies this season. My favorite play from this tier is Joel Embiid, who has gone over 75 Draftkings points in two straight games and draws an amazing matchup against the Atlanta Hawks and their 115.4% DvP%. Damian Lillard draws the worst matchup of the three but has gone over 60 fantasy points in his last two games. If I had to rank them I would go with Embiid, then Lillard, then Towns, but it’s hard to go wrong in this tier.

The NBA Research Stationis my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Two:

First off, don’t play Steph Curry here, he will be rested tonight. Curry being out only helps Kevin Durant’s fantasy production. With Curry off the floor this season Durant has a 38.8% usage rate and averages around 1.58 fantasy points per minute. He makes for a pretty obvious play in this tier, he will be the highest owned, but for good reason. Devin Booker is a decent pivot, he scored 45 Draftkings points against the Kings in a previous matchup. As for Andre Drummond, he draws a pretty difficult matchup against Jusuf Nurkic and company. However, he has gone over 50 fantasy points in three of his last four games and is mostly matchup proof. Overall, Durant headlines this tier with Booker and Drummond being GPP pivot options.

Tier Three:

Ben Simmons headlines this tier in the Domination Station, where he is projected for 46.2 Draftkings points. He gets a DvP% of 117% which is easily the highest of the tier. The Hawks are one of the worst defenses in the league and this Sixers team should have no problem taking advantage. Luke Doncic has struggled a bit in three matchups against the Warriors this season, averaging under 40 fantasy points per game. Trae Young has gone over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games but draws a tough defensive assignment in Ben Simmons who is much bigger and longer than him. I like Trae Young, but maybe a little easier to stomach for GPP. The Bulls have too small of a frontcourt to be able to hang with Rudy Gobert, he scored 52 Draftkings points in an earlier matchup. Gobert is a strong play in all formats. Finally, Donovan Mitchell scored 55.5 Draftkings points in that earlier matchup as well, I would lean Gobert in cash games and Mitchell in GPP.

Tier Four:

The Domination Station likes DeMarcus Cousins to score the most points in this tier. He too should see a fantasy production uptick with Curry off the floor. With Curry off the floor, he sees a 32.2% usage rate and around 1.43 fantasy points per minute. He makes for a strong play in all formats. Klay Thompson sees a 33.9% usage rate and around 1.15 fantasy points per minute with Curry off the floor. Of the two I would prefer Cousins, but Klay makes for a decent pivot. Buddy Hield has struggled in three matchups with the Suns so far this season, averaging less than 30 fantasy points per game. He always has 50 point upside however, leaving him playable for GPPs. De’Aaron Fox is in a similar spot, but certainly has upside given the matchup. Mike Conley rested last night, I would think he plays tonight, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed to be safe. He and Blake Griffin are fine GPP options if you want to get some exposure to them.

Tier Five:

Jonas Valanciunas is coming off of a massive 65 point fantasy outing last night against the Magic. The Domination Station has him projected for the most points in this tier again tonight. He also leads the tier in DvP% making him a very playable option in all formats. I talked about how the Sixers should be able to take advantage of the Hawks defense, which puts Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler into play. Jusuf Nurkic draws a tough matchup against a strong Detroit frontcourt, so I will likely go elsewhere here. John Collins is always a little too volatile for me in cash games, but he definitely has the tournament upside if you want to go there. Lauri Markkanen got over his cold streak with a 61 point fantasy outing in his last game, he gets a tough matchup here, but he has flashed the upside all season to make him worth a shot. DeAndre Ayton and Marvin Bagley square off tonight down low in Sacramento, they are both GPP options for me. Where Bagley could also be used in cash games.

Tier Six:

Steph Curry being out doesn’t really affect Draymond Green all that much because he’s not a huge usage hog. With that said, he has triple-double upside on any given night making him playable in all formats. Andrew Wiggins has struggled in his three games against the Grizzlies this season, averaging less than 25 fantasy points per game. The Domination Station shows that Dwight Powell draws the best DvP% at 121.4% making him a nice play here. JJ Redick is averaging over 30 fantasy points per game in two matchups with the Hawks this season, he’s certainly playable given the matchup. Robin Lopez draws one of the worst possible matchups for a center and has been a bit inconsistent as of late making him a fade for me. Jalen Brunson, Joe Ingles, and Harrison Barnes are all playable as GPP plays.
