DFS Madness's Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups on Draftkings - Mar. 8th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

Tier one features the usual superstars. The Domination Station likes James Harden and Russell Westbrook to have nearly identical fantasy nights. Of the two I would prefer Russell Westbrook, he draws a great matchup here, as the Clippers are ranked 28th in defense against point guards on the season. James Harden will likely draw Jimmy Butler defense which is never ideal, but its an up pace spot for him. Jokic has struggled in two matchups with the Warriors this season which makes him my third option here, but definitely has the upside to compete with Harden and Westbrook.

The NBA Research Station is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Two:

Paul George and Bradley Beal highlight this tier for me. George draws an incredible matchup against the Clippers in what will be one of the highest scoring games on the slate. He’s coming off of a massive night last night and will look to keep it going tonight. Bradley Beal has been one of the most consistent fantasy producers in the league as of late. He’s scored 50+ fantasy points in eight of his last ten games and the Hornets rank 27th in the league against opposing shooting guards. Between Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, Durant draws the far better matchup, as the Nuggets rank 29th in defense against small forwards and they rank first against point guards.

Tier Three:

Joel Embiid has already been ruled out for tonight’s game, so we can go back to the Ben Simmons well here. He has scored 50+ in his last four games and is playing pretty much 40 minutes per night. Nikola Vucevic burned the world in his last time out and he draws another good matchup here. I’m willing to go back to the well, as he is one of the more consistent centers in the league and will come at reduced ownership. The Pelicans rank 23rd against opposing small forwards, making this a pretty good spot for Kawhi Leonard. Andre Drummond draws a great matchup against the weak Bulls front-court and should be able to do whatever he wants against Robin Lopez down low.

Tier Four:

Kemba Walker is my favorite play in this tier. He draws an above average matchup against the Wizards. The same Wizards that just gave up 60 fantasy points to Luke Doncic. In two matchups against the Wizards this year, Kemba is averaging 58 fantasy points per game. Blake Griffin draws a nice matchup against the Bulls but has been underproducing lately. Rudy Gobert is in an incredibly slow game with a matchup against Jonas Valanciunas, so I’ll likely fade him here. Jrue Holiday is out for the Pelicans, so Julius Randle will see a boost in production. Randle sees a 31.4% usage rate and 1.42 fantasy points per minute with Holiday off the court this season. Finally, Kevin Love saw 30 minutes last game and put up 55 Draftkings points. He is the one Cavalier that I can play with confidence. Donovan Mitchell sees nearly a 40% usage rate with Rubio out this season, but it’s a pretty bad matchup, so I would prefer him in GPP.

Our NBA Domination Station lineup optimizer is Powered by DFS Army proprietary projections. The Domination Station will help you create 150 of the highest projected lineups in a matter of minutes. With features that allow you to Like 😀 Love 😍 or Dislike 😡 a player, you can create a fully unique pool of players to generate your lineups from every day. Combine the power of the Domination Station with our VIP Only Articles and the NBA Research Station to really take your game to the next level.

Tier Five:

DON’T PLAY JRUE HOLIDAY HE IS OUT TONIGHT. Tobias Harris and Lou Williams headline this tier for me. Tobias Harris underperformed last time out, but he is seeing nearly 40 minutes per game with Joel Emiid off the court this season. It sounds like Ben Simmons is questionable tonight, so keep an eye on our Breaking News Feed on how it will impact Harris’s usage. Lou Williams is my favorite play here. He leads the team with a 32.5% usage rate and scores 1.25 fantasy points per minute. DeMarcus Cousins draws a very tough matchup against Nikola Jokic but can be used as a GPP play for sure. Zach LaVine is coming off a huge game against the Sixers and draws a pretty good matchup against the Pistons. The Bulls will need Lauri Markkanens size tonight to battle the Pistons massive front-court, which puts him in play, although it is a tough matchup. Finally, Chris Paul is one of the safer options in this tier, so I would prefer him for cash games.

Tier Six:

Jimmy Butler is my favorite play here, especially if Ben Simmons gets ruled out. He is a guy much like Kyrie Irving, who shows up for big games. A matchup with James Harden may get him up and going here. Kyle Lowry is a nice play tonight, Kyle Lowry has played 40+ minutes in the past three games, and went over 50 fantasy points in two of them. He’s certainly in play here.  From the Clippers, the Research Station shows that Montrezl Harrell draws the best matchup, but I’m hesitant in targetting big men against Steven Adams. Clint Capela should be able to do whatever he wants against the undersized Sixers front-court. He hasn’t been as great as he was since being injured, but this is a nice spot for Capela. Anthony Davis is actually in play here as well, with Jrue Holiday off the court he sees a 35.8% usage rate and 1.56 fantasy points per minute.
