Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! Tier One:

We will have to keep an eye out for news on if Paul George will be available for today’s matchup against the Grizzlies. Even with George out, Westbrook has been sort of unimpressive. He scored 60 and 41 Draftkings points in the past two games with George off the court. Westbrook his most likely the safest option in this tier, and the Domination Station likes him to score the most fantasy points. However, Bradley Beal and Karl-Anthony Towns are white hot right now. Towns has scored 70+ fantasy points in three straight games and draws an incredible matchup against the Wizards who rank 27th in defense against opposing centers. Bradley Beal has scored 50+ in five of his last six games and his playing just about 40 minutes per night recently. You’re certainly not forced to go with Westbrook in tier one.

If you’re looking to create multiple lineups using your player pool, head on over to the Domination Station. This link will give you a quick tutorial on how to use the optimizer. The Domination Station is a great way to incorporate our projections with your own player pool to produce ideal lineups to help you play like an expert!

Tier Two:

This tier leaves a little to be desired, there’s nobody I really love here. Blake Griffin scored 60 Draftkings points in one matchup with the Raptors this season, while Andre Drummond was only able to muster up 32 fantasy points. My favorite play from this tier is likely Nikola Vucevic who has scored 40+ in each of his last ten games, however, the Cavs are surprisingly good against opposing centers. Kawhi Leonard scored 46.25 in his early matchup with the Pistons this season, he is also in play in this tier. The Domination Station has these guys grouped fairly close together, but Blake Griffin is the lowest projected of the four.

Tier Three:

The Cavaliers have been slowly increasing Kevin Love’s minutes and is inching closer and closer to that 30-minute mark. He’s been fairly elite this season when on the floor, scoring an average of 1.43 fantasy points per minute. Mike Conley draws a massive pace up matchup, this is a +7.8 point pace up spot for the Grizzlies. I like Conley here as a GPP option, his minutes worry me, but this is an elite matchup for him.

Pascal Siakam draws a tough matchup against Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, he scored 32.75 in this matchup earlier this season, he makes for a decent cash play and a nice GPP play. Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas are fine options as well, but I would reserve them for GPP given their difficult matchups.

Tier Four:

This Minnesota and Washington game is pretty intriguing to me, it’s got near a 240 total and a low spread. Finding ways to stack that game up in tiers could be a very profitable strategy. If we look at that game, Trevor Ariza is playing 35+ minutes per night and draws the best matchup on the Wizards. The Timberwolves rank 28th in defense against opposing small forwards on the season. Bobby Portis is a GPP play for me give the difficult matchup with KAT, I would prefer Ariza from the Wizards in this tier. On the other side, Andrew Wiggins draws a great matchup, as the Wizards rank 25th in defense against opposing small forwards. The Domination Station has Aaron Gordon projected for the most points, however, the Cavs play a slower pace than most people realize and Gordon thrives in pace up games. I’ll consider him for GPPs, but I would prefer someone from that Washington game in cash games. Larry Nance is way too inconsistent for me to consider here. Steven Adams is always in play, it’s a tough matchup, but I won’t talk you off of him if you want to go there.

Tier Five:

I think we can again attack that Washington game here. Both Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague draw a great matchup with one of the worst teams in guarding point guards in the league. Jeff Teague is the safer play for cash, he will draw the start, but Derrick Rose is the better point per minute producer if you want to go there in cash or GPP. I normally target Evan Fournier in cash games because he has a really decent floor, he scored 31.75 Draftkings points in one previous matchup against the Cavs this season. Jonathon Isaac has played well this season and has taken some production from Aaron Gordon, he’s scored at least 28.5 fantasy points in three of his last four games. Serge Ibaka and Jerami Grant are both GPP plays if you want to get exposure to them. Marc Gasol drew the start last game and will likely do the same today as they’ll need his size against the Pistons, I expect him to get some extra run today and like him quite a bit from this tier.

Tier Six:

DJ Augustin is currently questionable, so keep an eye on our Breaking News Feed for an update on him and who sees the biggest boost should he sit. If Paul George ends up being out, I’ll likely just go back to the Dennis Schroder well. He sees 30+ minutes when George sits, even though it’s not a great matchup, Schroder should have no problem finding fantasy production. Joakim Noah has found the fountain of youth and has scored 30+ fantasy points in five straight games, they’ll need is physicalness down low with battling with Steven Adams, I like him a decent amount here. Cedi Osman is also going to see 30+ minutes in a pace up spot against the Magic, he makes for a solid play as well. Collin Sexton is a little too volatile for cash games but is certainly in play for GPPs. The same can be said for Terrence Ross, I rarely play him in cash, but he has huge GPP upside. Finally, going back to the Minnesota game, Tomas Satoransky draws a great matchup. The Wolves rank 23rd against opposing point guards on the season and gives you exposure to that game.
