Welcome to the Core 4! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article throughout the day as news breaks. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Purpose of the Core 4: These four players are guys that I want to lock into my cash game lineups and if doing multi-entry, using the Domination Station lock them in or set high exposure percentages to them. These are players that I see as underpriced, in great matchups, in play because of injuries, increased usage, etc. I also need to mention that these plays are normally geared toward Draftkings pricing and scoring, I’m not a huge fan of NBA for Fanduel, so if you see my list has three small forwards or two centers, etc. it’s because of the multi-position eligibility on Draftkings. With that said, let’s jump right into it!
Tonight’s Core 4:
Dwight Powell – $5,200
The Dallas Mavericks go on the road to play the Brooklyn Nets in tonight’s matchup. We’ve been doing it all season, why stop now? Big men against the Nets, plain and simple. The Nets rank 27th in defense against opposing big men on the season. Not only are the Nets brutal against big men, but Powell’s price hasn’t caught up to his recent role. The Mavericks are giving Powell 30+ minutes per night and he is making the most of those minutes. In his last five games, Powell is averaging 32.9 Draftkings points per game. There is very little downside to Dwight Powell given the matchup, load up on Powell tonight against the Nets.
Jamal Murray – $6,100
The Nuggets will go on the road to play the San Antonio Spurs tonight. Just as we target big men versus the Nets, we can target point guards against the Spurs just the same. The Spurs rank dead last in defense against point guards on the season and Jamal Murray will have no issue taking advantage of this. In two matchups with the Spurs this season, Murray is averaging 32.4 Draftkings points per game. I like him to outperform that number tonight and hopefully get near the 40 fantasy point range. Load up on Jamal Murray tonight.

LeBron James – $11,200
The Lakers will stay in Los Angeles and play the Clippers tonight. This is a must-win game for LeBron and the Lakers, should they have any chance at making the playoffs. LeBron has been an absolute animal as of late, he’s averaged 64.3 Draftkings points per game over his last seven games. Not only has he been on a tear, but this is the highest projected total game on the slate. There is very little downside here for rostering LeBron, take your 60 points and move on.
DeAndre Bembry – $3,500
The Atlanta Hawks will go on the road to play the Miami Heat in tonight’s matchup. Taurean Prince and John Collins have been ruled out for tonight’s matchup which opens up minutes for Bembry. Bembry is replacing Justice Winslow in the core, just due to his price and how it allows us to pay up elsewhere. Winslow is still a very solid play. Bembry has gone over 20 Draftkings points in five of his last six games. Bembry really doesn’t need to do a whole lot to hit value here given his heavily discounted price. Due to his price and potential minutes, he will replace Winslow in the core, but don’t be afraid to still use Winslow.
