Flynnie’s Forecheck for 2/26/19
We’re back!! After a long off-season of watching the greatest love story since Romeo and Juliet – obviously, I’m talking about Alex Ovechkin’s love affair with the Stanley Cup – it’s time to play some hockey. For those of you that are new to the DFS Army, my name is Rob Flynn. I’m an NHL DFS writer and coach inside the DFS Army. We have the best articles, coaching, and tools in the industry. But let me tell you, the real money is made in the Slack chat that only our VIP’s have access to. That’s where we talk through a member’s lineup construction, thought process, or just answer any DFS questions they may have. Every coach is very accessible and willing to share our own processes to help every member grow as a player.
I wrote an article describing some of my process and some tips to win. Check it out here. We also have a brand new Research Station that is only available to VIP’s but here is the tutorial, to give you guys a taste of what’s coming this season. NHL DFS is very similar to DFS MLB. The volatility can be maddening, the floor of every player is ZERO and you need stacking in all contests. In cash games you need at least two players that correlate on either the scoring line or power play, to hopefully grab the goal and an assist. In GPP’s you need to stack the entire line and hope that line goes off for multiple goals.
Take a peek at our latest winner. DFSA is on fire over NBA All Star Break and would love to help you learn the game of hockey, as well! Whether you are already a VIP or are just passing by, our coaches can teach the rookie and veteran alike. Congrats to Handleyrs for a near 300 score and over $850 in winnings!!

Without any further ado let’s dig into today’s 11-game slate.
I am primarily a cash/hybrid player but even that requires some stacking. So, I list my favorite and then I take the pieces from those stacks that fit my lineup construction. Unlike last season, I will put my stacks, D-men, and goalies in order of my preference.
NHL FORWARDS
CBJ 1 – Panarin, Duchene, Atkinson: We have a small sample size with these three together, but Matt Duchene made a great first impression in debut at home with a tuck and an apple (goal and assist for those that don’t know hockey lingo). The Blue Jackets are in Cup-or-Bust mode and they know they have to get by Pittsburgh, so I expect their A-game.
BOS 1 – Marchand, Bergeron, Heinen: These three have scored eight goals in the last 10 games and will likely draw the matchup of SJ 2 who has been a wreck defensively, giving up eight goals in the last ten. And we’ve known for years Bergeron at home is a thing, just like MacKinnon at home.
WPG 1 – Wheeler, Scheifele, Laine: Minnesota sold off all their parts over the last week or so, and I don’t expect this to be close. One caveat to this line stack is this what they used in the last game prior to picking up Kevin Hayes. I’m expecting Laine to play with Hayes on WPG 2 and Connor to come back up to the top line. Watch news during the morning skate and we will know more then. If nothing else, these three give you PP1 correlation.
Other stacks
WSH 1 – Ovechkin, Backstrom, Wilson
PHI 2 – Lindblom, Couturier, Voracek
PIT 2 – Kessel, Malkin, Aston-Resse
VGK 1 – Stone, Karlsson, Marchessault
CAR 1 – Niedereitter, Aho, Williams
NYI 1 – Lee, Nelson, Eberle
NSH 1 – Arvidsson, Johansen, Forsberg – Watch line two also. Granlund isn’t listed on the projected lines yet, If he’s with Turris and Simmonds that’s a great value stack
STL 1 – Tarasenko, O’Reilly, Schwartz

DFS Studs on DEFENSE
**Burns, Karlsson, and Carlson are in play but very expensive and the two Sharks D-men take value away from each other, especially in cash games – keep them for GPP or MME**
Dahlin: He has averaged about 20 FD points over his last 5 games and they get a matchup with PHI who doesn’t defend defensemen well and allow a ton of shots. The rook should have a solid floor in this game.
Trouba: With Byfuglien and Morrissey out Jake Trouba will get all the ice time he can handle and run the point on the PP 1. BIRTHDAY NARRATIVE
Schultz: With Letang and Dumoulin injured this is going to be Schultzy’s blue line for the next couple of games. He is priced way too cheaply on both sites and he should be in your lineups tonight in all formats.
Honorable Mentions: Pulock, Yandle, Toews, Faulk, Theodore, Pietrangelo, Lindell
GOALIES Set to Bring Value
**All stats are over the last three weeks unless otherwise noted**
Mrazek: 3-1-0/1.52/0.946 He’s been rolling lately and gets a bad Kings team on a road B2B, He is a big money line favorite and facing the lowest ITT on the slate. His price tag will allow a solid build in ALL FORMATS.
Holtby: 3-3-1/3.02/0.912 His numbers lately are less than stellar and he will be heavily owned tonight. In a normal matchup, I would tell you to fade him. However, he gets the Belleville Senators tonight. His -300 money line is crazy high and he is the most expensive goalie on DK and priced in the mid-tier on FD. He should have no problem paying off either price tag. CASH
Fleury: 2-4-1/3.66/0.882 Normally he would never hit my radar on a slate this size, but I think VGK is about to go on a run. They traded for Mark Stone yesterday and that has the whole team buzzing – check out the welcome they gave him at the Vegas airport yesterday on Twitter. I don’t see any way they drop this game against a beat up Stars team.
Honorable Mentions: Binnington, Lehner, Reimer, Bobrovsky, Kuemper
GOAL PREDICTION: Mark Stone
