DFS NBA Lineup Strategies - Blande's 6th Man - Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Feb 4th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande. I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

We get a medium-sized 6-game slate tonight. The slate has got some top studs on it, however, there is a lack of ready value plays tonight. Some late breaking news could open up some interest value tonight, but while we wait for that, let’s take a look at what the bench has to offer. The options tonight are not the best, but we have to play the hand we are dealt.

Our own CashKeg returned with a bang! He might consider being under the weather a little more (I KID! I KID!)

Also, the winning continues over on the NHL side of things. Check them out as well!

CORE PLAYS

PG – Shabazz Napier (5800/5400): Napier is averaging 30.3 FDPs over his last 5 games. As the RS graphic shows, Napier is trending upwards on the Who’s Hot and Clock Watch meters. He gets a prime matchup against the Bucks who are allowing 3.8% more FPs to PGs than the league average. I like his spot tonight on both sites.

SG – Bogdan Bogdanovic (6600/5600): Bogdanovic continues to remain very cheap on DK. His recent numbers don’t look good, but he boasts a 46 FDPs ceiling making him a good play on any given night. He is averaging 27.6 MPG over his last 5, and 25.1 FDPs. The matchup against the Spurs who are average against SG is good for him too, making him an excellent all-format play on DK. He’s a little expensive on FD, limiting him to GPP only over there.

SG – Malik Beasley (4900/5500): Gary Harris is out, and Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap are questionable. If both end up missing this game, Beasley will see around 30 minutes off the bench again. The matchup versus the Pistons is an exploitable one, making him an excellent play tonight. It also helps that he is currently lighting up the Who’s Hot and Clock Watch Meters. Love him on both sites, but FD especially where he is cheaper.

PF – Jeff Green (5400/4900): Green has been on fire since moving back to the bench. His Who’s Hot and Clock Watch metrics are all green, showing how good he has been. He gets an excellent matchup against the Hawks who can’t defend anyone and has a projected ceiling of 36.7 FDPs, making him a good play in all formats tonight.

GPP PLAYS

PG – Patty Mills (4100/4100): Patty Mills is a borderline core play tonight. With Derrick White out, Mills will be the primary backup guard tonight and will see a significant minute boost. He will be seeing around 30 minutes off the bench here. Factor in the excellent matchup against the Kings who give up 7.8% more FPs to PGs than the league average and you have yourself an excellent play in all formats. He makes for a nice drop score on FD too.

SF – DeMarre Carroll (4800/4500): Carroll is averaging 24.2 FDPs in 27.1 MPG over his last 3. This is enough for right around 5x given his price today. The minutes are there, but the production hasn’t been as high as we will like to see. He does have a projected ceiling of 36.7 FDPs today. Putting this together, he makes for a hybrid play tonight on both sites. There are other options in starting lineups that are better positioned, but if you really need someone in this price range, Carroll has a safe floor.

SF – Taurean Prince (4900/4700): Prince is trending upwards on the Clock Watch Meter, averaging 2.21 more MPG over his last 3 than his last 10. This uptick in minutes has unfortunately not been followed by an uptick in production. That said, Prince is a talented player with very high upside. Factor in the plus matchup against the Wizards and this could just be the game he turns things around in. His floor is low, relegating him to strictly GPP territory.

PF – Ed Davis (5200/4100): Davis has been solid over his last 5 games, averaging 29.5 FDPs in 21.5 MPG. This has resulted in FD jacking up his price to an untouchable 5,200. I have no interest in him on there, but there is some interest in him on DK. At 4,100 on DK, Ed Davis has shown he is able to crush that salary and the matchup is one he can exploit. This is a GPP only play and one best suited for those MMEing.

Those are your Sixth men for today. Good luck out there today Army!
