Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

James Harden is currently listed as questionable with a cervical strain, personally I would expect him to suit up seeing as how this is a big game for the Rockets. However, ever since Chris Paul and now Clint Capel have come back Harden no longer needs to carry the team. This makes me lean toward Russell Westbrook and Giannis, the thing we need to keep an eye out for is the availability of Karl-Anthony Towns. If Towns is ruled out, I would have little interest in Giannis because this game would get out of hand quickly. Russell Westbrook is my favorite play in this tier, in my game break article I mentioned how his triple double streak ended last night, yet he still managed to put up 81 draftkings points, talk about a stud.
Tier Two:

This tier is really pretty easy for me, but I’ll breakdown why. Paul George is the highlight of this tier, he is simply playing out of his mind right now. You may be a little hesitant to roster George and Westbrook, but they are the two biggest scorers on that team and it’s not uncommon for them to both go off. Take last night for example, Westbrook scored 81 draftkings points while George scored 71. Not only are they playing at an elite level right now, but the Domination Station (pictured above) has George projected for the most points in this tier. LeBron James is always tough to talk people off of and I’m not even going to try to do that, he draws a fairly easy matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans who rank 27th against opposing small forwards according to the Research Station. That leaves us with Kevin Durant, although he draws a nice matchup against the Rockets, it’s very difficult to pick which superstar on that team is going to be the guy on any give night. With so many pieces on the Warriors he’s my forgotten man in this tier. The Domination Station seems to have left Karl-Anthony Towns out of this tier, but I’ll break him down quickly. He was in a car accident a few days ago and is currently questionable. He struggled in his only matchup against the Bucks this year scoring only 32.75 draftkings points, I think he can be avoided here.
If you’re looking to create multiple lineups using your player pool, head on over to the Domination Station. This link will give you a quick tutorial on how to use the optimizer. The Domination Station is a great way to incorporate our projections with your own player pool to produce ideal lineups to help you play like an expert!
Tier Three:

Seeing Blake Griffin’s name hurts after what he did to me last night, I won’t be on him tonight. He draws a difficult matchup with the Miami Heat in a low paced game, he can be avoided. My favorite play in this tier is Kemba Walker, the guy is a walking fire man at the moment. He’s scored 50+ draftkings points in six of his last seven games and draws the Brooklyn Nets tonight? Sign me up. The Research Station shows that the Nets rank 29th in defense against opposing point guards. This just seems like a simple tier to me with Kemba. My second option would be Bradley Beal who is just as hot as Kemba. He’s coming off a massive game last night where he scored nearly 70 draftkings points. Maybe the field will be drawn to that and we can get Kemba at lower ownership.
Tier Four:

Luka Doncic missed last nights game with ankle soreness, so keep an eye on his availability. Even if he plays I don’t see a reason to go there. Devin Booker seems like the obvious choice here given his matchup with the Hawks. Booker is one of my favorite plays on the slate, stacking against the Hawks has proven to be successful time after time this season. The Research Station shows they rank dead last in defense against opposing shooting guards. I’m hoping Andre Drummonds massive game last night will draw people to him in his matchup against the Heat tonight, but thats just wishful thinking. We do have a little birthday narrative with D’Angelo Russell if you want to attack him in gpp’s he’s probably my second option in this tier.

Tier Five:

This tier features a few guys that I think we can just cross off and that is Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle. The Pelicans are a mess right now and are limiting Jrue Holiday to 25 minutes for the rest of the season. They did the same thing with Randle too last night so I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s limited as well. My favorite plays from this tier are Rudy Gobert and Trae Young. Gobert draws an undersized Dallas front court after they traded away DeAndre Jordan. He should have no issue taking advantage of Dwight Powell and company. Trae Young draws the Phoenix Suns who rank 21st in defense agains opposing point guard, according to the Research Station. Mike Conley is a contrarian option due to the Cavs inability to play defense, but this game is too slow paced for my liking.
Tier Six:

There’s a few good options that I like in this tier. I feel like most people will be drawn to DeMarcus Cousins, but Clint Capela plays tough defense and him being out awhile skews their defensive ratings. De’Aaron Fox is averaging 44 draftkings points per game in three matchups with the Thunder this season, so I like him a bit. Al Horford went banana’s the last time out and nearly scored 70 fantasy points, my issue here is the blowout potential with the Bulls. Lastly, Buddy Hield may draw some Paul George defense which is a bit worry-some, but he’s averaging nearly 40 fantasy points per game in three matchups with the Thunder this season. If I had to pick my favorite play from this tier, DeMarcus Cousins and De’Aaron Fox would be neck and neck. However, Fox plays well with our lineup construction if you do have Westbrook and George. If that game shoots out you could be sitting on a gold mine.
