Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

Tier one is dominated by the late game by the Thunder and Nuggets. The Domination Station (featured above) shows that Russell Westbrook is projected to score the most fantasy points. However, Paul George draws the far better matchup. The Nuggets rank 26th against opposing small forwards, according to the Research Station. While the Nuggets rank 3rd in defense against point guards. With these three guys being so elite, I only look at matchups as a tie-breaker. With that said I don’t normally target big men against the Thunder because Steven Adams is such a force down low. The safest option in this tier is Westbrook, going with George or Jokic is definitely still in play, however.
Tier Two:

While tier one was all of the late game, tier two is a lot of the Toronto and Boston game. I’m going to go ahead and cross Kyle Lowry off of this tier, he just doesn’t have the ceiling that the other guys have. Toronto and Boston have met three times this season and Kyrie Irving is averaging 57.4 Draftkings points per game in those three. Kyrie is someone who I love attacking in big games, and the with these two fighting with the Bucks and 76ers for the Eastern conference, Kyrie normally comes to play. Kawhi Leonard is also playing well in those three games as well, as he is averaging 54.3 Draftkings points per game. Nikola Vucevic draws the best matchup of the three, as the Knicks will be without DeAndre Jordan for tonight’s matchup.
I want to give a quick shoutout to our very own coach, Mr. CeeGee, who took down the $50K And-One tournament on Draftkings last night! If you’re looking to create multiple lineups using your player pool, head on over to the Domination Station. This link will give you a quick tutorial on how to use the optimizer. The Domination Station is a great way to incorporate our projections with your own player pool to produce ideal lineups to help you play like an expert (a.k.a CeeGee).
Tier Three:

Trying to predict minutes for any of the Knicks players is a chore, Dennis Smith Jr. saw 30 minutes last game while Emmanuel Mudiay saw 19. Those numbers could flip tonight and nobody would be surprised. If it were me I would give the keys to DSJ and let him drive… but I’m not an NBA coach. For that reason, I would leave Dennis Smith as a gpp play only. The Domination Station likes Pascal Siakam of this group, but not by a whole lot. My favorite plays here are Siakam and Al Horford. Al Horford is averaging 37.8 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Raptors this season. We need to take these with a grain of salt though, as they were without Marc Gasol. Siakam, on the other hand, has struggled in these three games scoring on average 23.5 Draftkings points per game. If I were to pick one from this tier it would likely be Pascal Siakam.
Tier Four:

With Trey Lyles being out for the past couple of games, it has solidified Paul Millsap’s minutes. Not only that, but he has heavily produced in those minutes. Millsap has scored 45+ Draftkings points in three straight games and is really the highlight of this tier. Jamal Murray is averaging 36.4 Draftkings points in two matchups with the Thunder on the season. With the Thunder ranking 20th against opposing point guards, Murray makes for a good play as well. Marc Gasol has yet to play 25 minutes for the Raptors so I won’t likely end up on him. Ibaka, Fournier, and Isaac are all kind of blah for me, they don’t excite me but I also don’t hate them if you want to get contrarian.

Tier Five:

There’s three, maybe four, guys that I like in this tier. Those being Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox, Terrance Ross and maybe Steven Adams. Steven Adams is a maybe for me just because Jokic can play very tough defense, but that game will be pretty fast-paced and is averaging nearly 43 Draftkings points in two games against him this season. As I’m writing this I’m slowly talking myself onto him…Terrance Ross has been playing great basketball as of late. He has scored 25+ Draftkings points in eight of his last ten games, but also under 10 points in those other two. He makes for a great gpp play given his volatility. Mitchell Robinson is coming off one of his best games of the season where he scored 45 Draftkings points. The Knicks will be without DeAndre Jordan again tonight meaning more minutes for Robinson. Kevin Knox is the one Knick that feels like he will play consistent minutes on a nightly basis. He can be volatile, but he draws a decent matchup with the Magic who rank 19th against opposing small forwards.
Tier Six:

Tier six is a lot like picking which jelly bean you want to eat from beanboozled (you know the ones with the vomit and grass clippings flavors…no? okay), it’s ugly and gross, but you have to pick one. DJ Augustin stands out as the best option, with Isaiah Briscoe out his minutes become more solidified. He’s also scored 20+ Drafktings points in three straight games and draws a very nice matchup against the Knicks. I will say one thing for certain, DO NOT PLAY KADEEM ALLEN. Allen is in the G-League right now and I’m not sure why Draftkings even has him in a tier. Dennis Schroder is averaging 20 Draftkings points in two games against the Thunder this year, so there’s that. I will say, the Domination Station has Jerami Grant as the best play here. I’m a little less willing to go with him now with Markieff Morris in town taking some of his minutes.
