Welcome to the DFS Army NBA 1st look article. In this article, I’ll try to give you a quick glance at the NBA slate each morning. I’ll go over some of the Vegas info and some of the Injury situations we’re monitoring throughout the league.

💥 Who’s Out? Who’s Questionable? What it means…
PHI Jimmy Butler and Wilson Chandler – Questionable
With Jimmy Butler off the floor Joel Embid has a 39.6% usage and averages 1.85 fantasy points per minute. He’s the clear cut #1 option on this team and shoud be our #1 target if we’re going after any Sixers players. JJ Redick is #2 on the team with a 26.4% usage and averages just under 1.0 fp/min. 3rd on the team is Ben Simmons with a 23.1% usage and 1.18 fp/min average. We’ll probably see Furkan Korkmaz enter the starting lineup if both Butler and Chandler are out tonight.
NOP Nikola Mirotic – OUT
Mirotic has been out for awhile so we should know how to handle this by now. #1 is Anthony Davis, who is pretty much matchup proof in any mathup. He has a legit floor of 45-50 fantasy points every single night and baring injury is one of the safest players to roster. Next up for me is Julius Randle who has averaeged 37 minutes and 41.1 fantasy points in his last 5 games. 3rd is Jrue Holiday who has averaged 38 minutes and 39.7 fantasy points in his last 5 games. I’m a little concerned with Holiday now that Payton is back and running the point. However in this Matchup vs the Cavs, pretty much everyone on the Pelicans is in Play here.
HOU Eric Gordon and Chris Paul – OUT
I mean… What more can we say here… James Harden is a lock for me any time he touches the floor these days. In his last 5 games he’s averaging 40 minutes and 67.2 fantasy points per game. Sure, he’s expensive but the odds of him failing with CP3 and Gordon off the floor are very small. His last 5 games look like this (FD scoring) 80.5 – 71.5 – 68.8 – 53.4 – 61.7. He is currently priced at $13,000 on Fanduel and honestly, that’s still too cheap for the numbers he’s putting up. With CP3 and Gordon off the floor Harden has a 50% usage rate and averages 2.0 fantasy points per minute. Don’t get cute here in cash, just lock him in and move on. When he reaches $14,000 salary then we can talk about fade stragedies.
TOR Kyle Lowry – Doubtful (likely out) – Jonas Valanciunas (still out)
We’ve seen Lowry in and out of the lineup all year long so we should know how to handle this by now. With Lowry out, Kawi Leonard has a 36% usage rate and averages 1.33 fp/min. Serge Ibaka 22% and 0.96 fp/min. Pascal Siakam 21.9% and 1.01 fp/min. Fred VenVleet will likely start at PG again and honestly I hate playing the guy. I understand the increased opportunities and minutes he will see but he’s just not that good (at least from a DFS perspective) in my opinion. Over his last 5 games he has averaged 31 minutes and 21.8 fantasy points. He is priced at $5,300 on FD so he’s not the lock and load value he once was when Lowry is out. Proceed with caution here vs a very tough Bucks team.
