Welcome to the DFS Army NBA 1st look article. In this article, I’ll try to give you a quick glance at the NBA slate each morning. I’ll go over some of the Vegas info and some of the Injury situations we’re monitoring throughout the league.

💥 Who’s Out? Who’s Questionable? What it means…
LAL LeBron James OUT
With LeBron out, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma all see large usage increases in this Offense. Josh Hart also plays a larger role off the bench. The prices are starting to get high on these guys so they are not the “lock and load” values they were when LeBron first went down with injury.
CHA Cody Zeller OUT – Jeremy Lamb Doubtful
Willie Hernan Gomez, Frank Kaminsky and Bismack Biyombo will likely fill the minutes void by Zeller. While Michael Kidd Gilchrist and Marvin Williams will fill in for Jeremy Lamb
BKN Rondae Hollis Jefferson and Allen Crabbe OUT
DeMarre Carroll will likely get the start for RHJ if he is out. He’s a decent value on a big slate. Rodions Kurucs has been solid with Crabbe out and he will continue to see big minutes with him out. Joe Harris has been good as well. Spencer Dinwidde and D’Angelo Russell both have high usage rates (30%+) with Crabbe off the floor.
NOP Nikola Mirotic OUT
By now we know who to target on this Pelicans team with Mirotic out. Its all about Anthony Davis, Julius Randle and Jrue Holiday. You would be hard pressed to find a better matchup in the league than vs the Nets. A lot of us broke in the 2019 New Year tilting an Anthony Davis late scratch so his ownership could be lower than normal tonight in a smash spot.
WAS Markief Morris OUT – John Wall OUT
Trevor Ariza, Thomas Bryant and Jeff Green will pick up additional minutes and usage with Morris out. Otto Porter is believed to be back tonight but the Wizards will likely have a tight rotation tonight vs the Hawks. The matchup vs the Hawks is dreamy and the Wizards will be one of the most popular teams today.
MIN Jeff Teague Q – Derrick Rose Doubtful – Robert Covington – Q
With Teague and Rose off the Floor its all about the big KAT, Karl Anthony Towns for the T’Wolves. He has a 35% usage rate and averages 1.71 fantasy points per minute. Tyus Jones would be the starting point guard again tonight and he’s been playing well with Teague and Rose out recently. Over his last 5 games he has averaged 30 minutes 29.2 fantasy points per game.
BOS Kyrie Irving – Q
Irving missed 2 games earlier this season and Tery Rozier started both of them. He scored 36.5 and 31.75 Dk points in those games. It’s worth noting however that with Irving off the floor Marcus Morris leads the team averaging 1.13 fantasy points per minute. Usage increases are as follows: Marcus Morris +4.3% – Marcus Smart +3.5% – Gordon Hayward +2.9% – Jaylen Brown +2.1% – Terry Rozier +1.4%
CLE Tristan Thompson Q – Rodney Hood Q – Ante Zizic OUT – David Nwaba OUT
With Thompson and Zizic possibly out we’ll continue to see big minutes from Larry Nance. Over his last 5 games he has averged 32 minutes and 37.6 fantasy points. Newly signed Patrick McCaw will be availble tonight so we’re not sure how the minutes will play out exactly. Jordan Clarkson and Alec Burks should still be decent value plays for the Cavs as I don’t expect their minutes to take to much of a hit even with McCaw in the mix
