Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army. If you are not yet a member, we have something special for you right now. Use the link here and promo code “NEWYEAR” to get 20% off your subscription.
We have eight games on the main slate tonight. The slate is filled with studs and finding the right value to fit around them is important. Enters the 6th Man, providing you a look at some of the best value options available off the bench tonight. Core plays can be used in cash/hybrid/gpp lineups unless otherwise specified. GPP plays are exactly what they are, players who have upside but carry a lot of downside risk.
Before we dive in, It is Q Season and we already have two staff members in the Live Q, what are you waiting for?

CORE PLAYS
Spencer Dinwiddie – PG – (5900/5800): Spencer Dinwiddie’s price continues to drop significantly on both Fanduel and DraftKings. This is necessitated by the current 4-game slump he is riding, with his highest output in this period being a 25 DKPs outing against the Bulls. We all know slumps eventually end, and if one looks closely at this game script tonight, you’ll realize the Celtics focus will be stopping D’Angelo Russell, opening opportunities for Dinwiddie. At his price, he makes for a great low-owned core play here tonight on both sites.
Bogdan Bogdanovic – SG – (6600/5300): The price discrepancy here is crazy. Especially for a game where Iman Shumpert might be out, opening even more opportunities for Bogdanovic. In his last 6 games, Bogdan has averaged 32.4 DKPs in 31.1 MPG. He should easily crush value at his price on DK in this matchup. This is a simple one for me, Bogdanovic is a CORE all-format play on DK and a GPP play on FD.
JaMychal Green – PF – (4300/3900): JaMyke is just too cheap today. I get that he has only cracked 20 FDPs in 2 of his last 6 games, but the matchup today dictates a higher price for him. Against the Pelicans, Green’s size will be needed. In his last three games against the Pelicans, Green has put up 46.8, 30.2, and 37.6 FDPs in 34, 24, and 28 minutes. I’ll take this kind of production anytime at that salary. He’s a lock for me tonight.
Lance Stephenson – SF – (4200/4000): Stephenson has come alive off the bench for the Lakers with all the injuries they are dealing with. The most important one in the case of Lance is the injury with Kuzma. From midway through the OKC game where Kuzma got injured, Stephenson has shown up. In the two full games without Kuzma he has put up 26.5 and 28.25 DKPs in 29 and 27 minutes. The matchup against the Mavericks is an exploitable one for him. IF Kuzma is out, Stephenson makes for a core play on both sites.

GPP PLAYS
Justin Jackson – SF – (4400/3800): With Iman Shumpert questionable with a finger injury, the door is open for Justin Jackson in GPPs. There is nothing fun about rostering Jackson. He doesn’t do much with the minutes he normally gets, but this matchup today against the Magic is a good one for him. Should Shumpert miss it, Jackson could see 25-30 minutes in this game. He is more than capable of hitting 5-6x on FD and 6-7x on DK, given his price. He’ll also be a low-owned option here, making him appealing in GPPs.
George Hill – PG – (3800/3300): George Hill plays against a former team. Before people talk about narratives, I’m not really buying into that here. My main reason for including Hill here is that he is an excellent drop-score candidate on FD. He is seeing minutes in the lower 20s with the Bucks, with the occasional 28 minutes. Given his skill set and potential to go off, I like taking a shot here in GPPs on FD, where he can be my drop-score.
Gerald Green – SF – (3800/3900): With all the attention on Harden, Gerald Green has quietly held up his end for the Rockets. Green is an excellent scorer, and when he gets hot, watch out. In this matchup, with all the defensive bodies focused so much on stopping Harden, Green will get some wide-open shots. I want a piece of that in GPPs on both FD and DK.
Dwight Powell – PF – (4300/3700): The final GPP play here is Dwight Powell. There’s nothing sexy with his game, but he keeps performing in very limited minutes off the bench here. In his last meeting versus the Lakers, Powell went for 27.4 FDPs in just 16 minutes. Powell rarely sees a lot of minutes, but when he does get 20 minutes he usually goes off. He could see right around that much today in a matchup in which the Lakers could opt to go small. Even if he ends up around 16-18 mins, that’s more than enough for him to do damage against the Lakers leaky defense right now. He makes for a nice drop-score format GPP play if in need of salary relief.
