So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – December 7th
💥 Bam Adebayo MIA PF $5,500 and Kelly Olynyk MIA PF $5,100
Hassan Whiteside is out tonight as he awaits the birth of his new child. That is going to make Bam Adebayo one of the most popular plays on tonight’s slate. He will see extra minutes with Whiteside out AND he gets a dreamy matchup vs the Suns who allow 14% more fantasy points per game to Centers than the league average. Kelly Olynyk finds himself in the same matchup vs the same terrible Suns team but his minutes are a little less secure. He’ll still get minutes but won’t get as many as BAM. If Olynyk was cheaper I’d be all over him in this matchup but at $5,100 I’m just moderately interested.
💥 Josh Hart and Kentavious Caldwell Pope LAL SG $3,600 and $3,700
Brandon Ingram is out for the Lakers for the next 2 games. This is going to force the backup guards to soak up some more minutes. With Ingram OUT LeBron gets the biggest increase on the team +2.4% and +1.63 fantasy points per minute but these two offer some great value tonight in a matchup vs a bad Spurs Defense. The Spurs have a team defensive efficiency rating of 111 and they allow 6% more fantasy points to Shoot Guards than the league average.

💥 Jimmy Butler PHI SG $8,100
While many will flock Ben Simmons tonight with Joel Embid out I’ll be more heavily invested in Jimmy Butler. Dating back to last season Ben Simmons ony has a 25% usage with Embid off the court and not he does not have a great FP per 36 min increase only 1.62 fp. He will be chalky so the fade is risky but I’m going heavy on Butler here in this situation. Butler has played 123 minutes this year without Embid. In those games he has a 33.2% usage rate and a usage increase of +9.1%. He has scored 9.53 more FP/36 min and he gets a solid matchup vs the Pistons tonight.
💥 Josh Jackson PHO SF $5,500
Devin Booker and TJ Warren are both out again tonight vs the Miami Heat. Josh Jackson has been starting and playing very well without these two on the floor. The matchup vs the Heat is not ideal as they are basically league average vs Small Forwards. Over his last 5 games Jackson has played 28 minutes per game and has averaged 28.8 fantasy points per game. He’s gone over 30 fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games an I expect him to get close to that total again this evening.
