Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – December 10th
💥 Boston Celtics
Kyrie Irving is OUT while Al Horford and Aron Baynes are both questionable. If both big men are out Daniel Theis is going to be a great value play and he exploded the other day for 56.5 fantasy points against the Bulls. Terry Rozier is only $4,100 on Fanduel and with Kyrie Irving already ruled out he is going to be a elite value option tonight. Marcus Smart will be a solid value as well in the Celtics backcourt without Irving. As of now, I would rank the Celtics value in this order 1) Rozier 2) Theis 3) Smart. The Pelicans allow 11% more fantasy points to point guards than the league average. They also allow 11% more fantasy points to shooting guards than the league average so Rozier and Smart are both in elite spots here tonight.
With Irving out and Horford questionable we can expect increased usage for Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown if we’re spending up a little. Both are viable plays tonight given the short rotation the Celtics will likely have tonight.
💥 Tomas Satoransky WAS PG $4,300
John Wall is out tonight so that is going to open up a lot of usage for this Wizards team. Tomas Satoransky will likely start at point guard and we all remember what he did the last time he started for John Wall against the Hawks. If you don’t remember here is a refresher, 14 points, 7 ast, 4 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk, 38 minutes and 38.3 fantasy points. Tonight the Wizards get a matchup with the Pacers which is not a great matchup for point guards. The Pacers allow (-)11% less fantasy points to point guards than the league average so we should probably temper our expectations a little tonight. The minutes will be there however so I will be going cheap at point guard tonight with Satoransky and Rozier (see above) in most of my lineups.
Bradley Beal and Otto Porter will be two of my favorite spend up options on this Wizards team tonight. With John Wall off the floor they both handle the ball much more and are asked to do a lot of the scoring that usually takes care of. With Wall off the floor Beal has a 31.9% usage rate and Poter has a +5% usage and +5.29 fp/36 min. Kelly Oubre has a 28% usage rate which is 2nd on the team behind Beal when Wall is off the floor.

💥 Miami Heat
Hassan Whiteside is out again tonight and Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson are both questionable. With Whiteside out we know we can get solid production out of Bam Adebayo but he’s not the auto play he was a few days ago now priced at %6,500 on Fanduel. The matchup vs the Lakers is pretty juicy as they allow 9% more fantasy points to centers. Kelly Olynyk is also going to see more minutes with Whiteside out and he’s been playing very well lately. Over his last 5 games he has averaged 30.8 fantasy points and 27 minutes per game.
If Dragic and Johnson are both out we will see a bump for the rest of the Miami wing players. Justise Winslow, Wayne Ellington and Dwyane Wade are my 3 favorite. The Lakers allow 14% more fantasy points to shooting guards than the league average and we have a solid DWade vs LeBron narrative here tonight.
