Welcome to the DFS Army NBA 1st look article. In this article I’ll try to give you a quick glance at the NBA slate each morning. I’ll go over some of the Vegas info and some of the Injury situations we’re monitoring throughout the league.

💥 Who’s Out? Who’s Questionable? What it means…
IND Victor Oladipo OUT
With Oladipo out we can expect increased usage for Darren Collison and Cory Joseph as the primary ball handlers. Domantas Sabonis becomes the primary scoring option for the team and Tyreke Evans runs the offense off the bench. Bojan Bogdonovic also becomes a solid mid tier price play as he will get a few extra shots up with Oladipo off the floor.
CLE David Nwaba OUT – Rodney Hood – Q
Nwaba has been out since Nov 26th dealing with a sore knee. Rodney Hood missed last game as well. Point Guard George Hill was traded to the Bucks and the Cavs brought back Matthew Dellavedova who should make his season debut for the Cavs Monday night. Larry Nance came off the bench last game and Jaron Blossomgame started in his place. The Cavs are currently 14 point underdogs in this road game vs the Bucks. If Hood misses the game I like Jordan Clarkson and Alex Burks as they would likely play big minutes even in a blowout.
CHI Kris Dunn OUT – Bobby Portis – Q
The Bulls lost by 56 points Saturday night to the Raptors and the players had a “players only” meeting after that horrible loss. The matchup is good for the Bulls vs the Kings who play at a 107 pace and have a defensive efficiency rating of 108. Lauri Markkanen has been back for 4 games and has 2 very good games 45.4 and 40.5 fantasy points. The other 2 games were pretty bad only 20.8 and 13.3 fantasy points. Overall this team is a risky team to target players from but the matchup is solid so we could get some nice GPP pieces here.
DAL Dennis Smith Jr OUT – Maxi Kleber – Q
Smith has missed the last 2 games and Jalen Brunson has replaced him in the starting lineup. He’s played 30 and 25 minutes in those games and has scored 25.5 and 29.9 fantasy points. Only priced at $3,800 he’s on my list as a top value option early on in my research. Wes Matthews has a +1.9% usage rate with Dennis Smith off the floor but nobody feels “safe” on this Mavs team right now for cash games.
BOS Al Horford and Aron Baynes – Q
Daniel Theis exploded Friday when Horford and Baynes were out. He played 32 minutes and scored 56.5 fantasy points. His price is up to $4,400 now so he’s not the min price plug and play he was on Friday night. With Horford out, Kyrie Irving, Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown all see usage bumps.
WAS John Wall DOUBTFUL
If Wall misses the game Tomas Satoransky would like start and become one of the most popular value options on the slate. Priced at only $4,300 on Fanduel he played 38 minutes and scored 38.3 fantasy points last time Wall was out. When John Wall is out Bradley Beal has a 31.9% usage rate +3.5% and +3.8 fp/36 min. Kelly Oubre sees a +6.4% usage rate and +5.38 fp/36 min and Otto Porter has a +5.0% usage rate +7.58 fp/36min.
MIA Hassan Whiteside OUT – Josh Richardson and Tyler Johnson – Q
Bam Adebayo will likely get the start again for Whiteside. Bam had ZERO fantasy points in the 1st half of the game Saturday but finished strong with 35.6 fantasy points. Dwyane Wade scored 44.2 fantasy points off the bench Saturday and he along with Justise Winslow would be my favorite targets if Richardson and Johnson were to miss the game.
PHO Devin Booker OUT – TJ Warren and DeAndre Ayton – Q
Warren has missed the last 5 games and the Suns have been absolutely lost with Devin Booker out. They’ve lost 8 games in a row and 7 of those by double digits. Melton has been a solid value scoring over 22.5 draftkings points in 3 straight games. The main target here with Booker OUT and Warren Q would be Josh Jackson. Overal however this team is a mess right now so everyone is risky.
DEN Gary Harris and Paul Millsap OUT – Jamal Murray – Q
Nikola Jokic will be in consideration as top overall play on the slate again Monday with Harris and Millsap out. With Harris and Millsap off the floor Jokic has a 33.6% usage rate which is +7.2% from his normal rate. He also averages +10.04 more fantasy points per 36 minutes. Trey Lyles, Monte Morris, Malik Beasley and Torrey Craig will all be solid value options on this slate with Harris and Millsap out. If Murray misses their value will be even greater.
