DFS NBA Lineup Strategies - Blande's 6th Man - Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Dec 19th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

I just got a shiny new channel, so join me in #blande-nba-wnba!

We have a massive twelve-game slate on our hands tonight. There is a lot to keep track of today, early injury news has opened tremendous value already, and possible late injury news will open even more. There are some games with massive totals to target and others you can reasonably fade. Make sure to do your research. If ever there was a day you could do without having to go to the bench, this is it. However, there are some interesting bench plays out there tonight, providing sneaky value. As you’ll quickly realize, most of the 6th Men today are priced better on FD than on DK, allowing us to take advantage of this price mismatch on FD. Let’s get started!

Congrats to MrBearHere for locking down his place at the WFBB Live Finals!

CORE PLAYS

Domantas Sabonis (6600/6700): Sabonis is having himself a nice season and has put up two solid games. He gets a matchup today against a severely depleted Raptors team on the frontcourt. It’s tough to see the likes of Monroe limiting Sabonis here tonight. He’s a good play in all formats today.

Spencer Dinwiddie (7100/7300): Dinwiddie is still too expensive in my books; however, he gets an excellent matchup here tonight. Russell is due for a letdown and when that happens, Dinwiddie will pick up the slack. That could very well be today. It’s a good matchup for Dinwiddie and he makes for a solid core bench play.

Jordan Clarkson (5800/5900): Clarkson missed last night’s game with a back injury. He’s back today well rested and ready to go. He has been phenomenal off the bench and makes for an excellent play today. He also has a good track record in this matchup. You can’t go wrong with a guy who has a high floor and the upside that Clarkson has.

Terry Rozier (4200/4300): Terry Rozier becomes an excellent value play if Jaylen Brown is out. With Brown out, Marcus Smart will likely get the start and Rozier will be the backup here. He’ll see 25+ minutes and is in line to crush value in an excellent spot. This makes Rozier a solid all-format play if Brown is out.

In case you forgot already, Loosmeister locked his place in the same WFBB Finals a while back!

GPP PLAYS

Cheick Diallo (3900/4500): Diallo is just a FD play to me. He is too expensive for my test on DK, I’ll rather go with a Rozier or Ariza on there. On FD however, he makes for a solid drop-score candidate play. Diallo will pick up quite a bit of minutes today with Randle and Mirotic both out. He should be able to translate those minutes into fantasy points. At his price, exceeding value is within expectations on FD. He is a GPP play.

Terrence Ross (5100/5200): Ross is expensive on both sites, but there is a reason for that. He has been solid all season for the Magic off the bench, and extremely consistent. Today he gets a good matchup against the Spurs backcourt which has been very poor this season. This is an excellent spot for him to showcase his skill set, especially with Vucevic out. Given his price, this is a strictly GPP ownership play.

Tony Parker (4100/4000): I just have a feeling Tony Parker is due one of his phenomenal games. What better matchup than a meeting with the defense-allergic Cavs? This is a hit or miss play. Parker could give you 35 or he could put up 8 FDPs. This play is best suited for those MMEing. Make sure to have Parker in a few of your lineups when MMEing.

Jared Dudley (3800/3200): Allen Crabbe has been ruled out, and Ronda Hollis-Jefferson is questionable. If RHJ misses this game, it will open up minutes for Dudley who has played very well in his last 2 games. Given he has the hot hand now, an increase in minutes could translate into him crushing value. This is an excellent drop-score play on FD if RHJ is out, and at 3200 on DK, it is worth a shot in GPPs.

Those are your Sixth Men for today. I’ll have notes covering the entire slate later on. Good luck out there tonight! And join me in my new channel #blande-nba-wnba.
