DFS NBA Lineup Strategies - Blande's 6th Man - Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Dec 14th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

I just got a shiny new channel, so join me in #blande-nba-wnba!

A nine-game slate awaits us tonight. It’s actually a pretty good slate in terms of distribution between studs and values. The PF and PG positions are loaded today as well, making it an excellent night for taking down some GPPs. Differentiating lineups will be important today, given the chalky value on the slate, and there’s no better place to start your research on that than reading up on our top 6th Men of the night. Let’s get into it!

Shoutout to biggzz25 for a nice takedown in the NFL showdown last night!

CORE PLAYS

Markieff Morris (5600/5100): Markieff Morris has filled in admirably since Dwight Howard went down. Today he gets a fantastic matchup against the Nets. The last time these two met, Morris put up 44.4 FDPs. It’s hard to see how the Nets stop him from reaching value given how poor they are on defense. He’s an excellent all format play on both sites.

Marcus Morris (6500/6500): Morris bro #2 is in an excellent spot today as well against the defense-allergic Hawks team. He’ll be called on to the heavy lifting on the 2nd unit and he has lived up to it so far. I’m not too worried about this game blowing out and limiting his minutes. However, he is a little pricey, so he is better suited for hybrid/GPP lines here.

Domantas Sabonis (6300/6500): Sabonis hasn’t returned to his pre-injury form just yet. Today, he gets an opportunity to do just that. The matchup against the 76ers at PF is a dream one, one he can exploit fully. He is playable in all formats on both sites.

JaMychal Green (5500/4600): This is one of my favorite plays on both sites, but especially on DK. Green will be low-owned today given all the other chalky options available at PF. This makes him an excellent GPP play. Now, he has an excellent matchup against the Heat who just can’t stop PFs this season. At his price, he should easily make value. His floor is also relative safe, making him a good cash play as well. Love him!

Let’s not forget sempernaut’s near NBA takedown last night as well!

GPP PLAYS

Jeremy Lin (4500/4500): It’s GPP territory and Jeremy Lin is back for the Hawks. With Prince out, Lin could see 20-25 minutes today. At his price, that is more than enough for him to reach value. He also has a high upside, making him a nice GPP play. A word of caution, Lin is coming off an injury, and he could be rusty which could lead him to underperform here. Only play him in GPPs.

Terry Rozier (4200/4600): A ping-pong between Rozier and Lin sounds like the kind of thing GPP-winning dreams are made of. I can see both of them going off here off the bench. With Jaylen Brown questionable and Horford out, Rozier could see some good minutes here. He is really cheap on FD for the matchup and potential. Ping-ponging with Lin in GPPs, especially on FD could lead to some interesting results.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (5500/5400): Otto Porter Jr. is questionable for tonight. If Porter is out, I love the outlook for Oubre Jr. The only reason he is only GPP viable is due to his bottomless floor. For such a talented player, he sure knows how to disappear during games. His ceiling, however, is tremendous, making him a lovely GPP play on both sites.

Greg Monroe (3500/3600): Finally, this is a FD drop score format GPP special. It just might be a Greg Monroe night today. Valanciunas is out with a thumb injury and will miss some significant time. This means Ibaka will get more run out at the 5 and play a ton of minutes. This also opens up minutes for Greg Monroe as the backup center. Monroe could see as much as 15-20 minutes, tonight and if he is hot many even more. We all know what Monroe can do when he gets minutes. This is exactly the kind of upside we want in our drop score play on FD. He is only GPP viable because we have no idea how the rotation will look like. I love rostering him tonight!
