NBA Free Squares November 8th

Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.

So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. These players will often be priced as backups (their normal role). The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Free Square Results for yesterday – November 7th

Paul George – 32.40 fp – 3.17x value
Derrick Rose – 38.10 fp – 6.92x value
Dennis Schroder – 40.40 fp – 6.31x value
Cameron Payne – 14.00 fp – 3.18x value

Overall – 124.90 fp – 4.89x value

Paul George had a solid game scoring 18 points and grabbing 7 rebounds but he deffered to Schroder for most of the night. He only had a 24.1% usage rate last night compared to Schroder’s 32.2%. Derrick Rose and Dennis Schroder both exceeded 6x value for us last night. They were chalk all day long and they did not dissapoint. Cameron Payne did Cameron Payne things and only scored 14 fantasy points for us in 14 minutes. Solid FP per minute but just didn’t get the minutes we expected last night vs the Pelicans. The top values on the slate were Omari Spellman 12.97x value, Hassan Whiteside 9.53x value and Davis Bertans 8.94x value. The Top fantasy point scorers were Hassan Whiteside with 82, Anthony Davis with 71.50 and Victor Oladipo with 67.70.

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 8th

We have a small 4 game Thursday slate tonight. The highest game total of the night is 238 in Oakland where the Warriors will host the visiting Bucks. The Clippers and Blazers are 2nd at 226 while the Rockets and Thunder round out the Top 3 at 214. Today there are only 4 games on the slate and every game has a 213 total or higher with the Celtics and Suns being the lowest at 213.

💥 Paul George + Dennis Scroder – OKC – SF/SG – $10,500/$7,000

This is what I wrote yesterday for these two in this exact situation (Westbrook out). No need to re-invent the wheel here today look below and my thoughts from yesterday.

Paul George – Dating back to last season with Russell Westbrook off the court Paul George has a ridiculous 38.3% usage rate and he scores 1.28 fantasy points per minute. In those games he has scored on average +7.34 more fantasy points per 36 minutes without Westbrook. The usage is simply too high to overlook.

Dennis Schroder – He just joined the Thunder this season but he’s already played a few games without Russell Westbrook. This season he has a 32.2% usage rate with Westbrook off the floor and he has averaged 38.30 fantasy points per 36 minutes.

Both guys are in play for me every single time Westbrook misses a game.

💥 Kevin Durant – GSW – SF – $10,800

It was announced yesterday that Draymond Green will miss tonight’s game. This is going to be a rather large boost for Kevin Durant this evening vs the Bucks. If we look back to last year we see that Kevin Durant averages around 1.5 fantasy points per minute with Draymond off the floor. The Warriors have the highest team total on the slate tonight at 120.8 which is shockingly BELOW their season average of 123.5. I’m not too worried about the implied total being lower than their average tonight. On a 4 game slate KD is a great pay up piece tonight in what should be a competitive game with Giannis and the upstart Bucks.

💥 Steven Adams – OKC – C – $5,800 (Draftkings)

Much better play on Draftkings tonight than on Fanduel where he is only priced at $5,800. Tonight OKC gets a matchup with the Rockets who allow 10% more fantasy points to centers than the league average. Russell Westbrook is expected to be out again tonight, but that doesn’t really help or hurt Adams much. He should be able to pull down more rebounds without Westbrook taking them all, but he doesn’t fantasy points per minute is not effective much without Westbrook.

💥 Kyrie Irving – BOS – PG – $8,500

Most people will be flocking to Damian Lillard and Steph Curry tonight and I think Kyrie may get overlooked. The matchup here is prime for another 50 point from him tonight vs the Suns. This season the Suns have allowed 22% more fantasy points to point guards than the league average. Kyrie Irving has topped 45 fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. His usage is on the rise as well over the past 4 games with 27%, 30%, 26% and 26%. He’s shooting 60% from the field over his last 4 games and is playing just under 33 minutes per game. Tonight’s matchup is ELITE vs the Suns who have a 113 Defensive Efficiency rating. I’ll be heavily invested in Kyrie tonight over the higher priced Steph Curry and Damian Lillard.

Need a Fanduel “Drop Score” Punt play? Jordan Bell is your guy tonight. Likely getting the start for the Warriors in the absense of Draymond Green. He’s a great plug and play option tonight on Fanduel. If he drops a low score, so what we get to drop it at the end of the night. He he posts a 10x score, amazing! He’s averaged around 0.90 fantasy points per minute in his career with Draymond Green off the court. He should be in line for 25-30 minutes tonight so you can do the math. Lock him in and pay up for some studs elsewhere tonight.
