NBA Free Squares November 7th

Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.

So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. These players will often be priced as backups (their normal role). The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Free Square Results for yesterday – November 6th

DeAndre Brembry – 18.20 fp – 3.71x value
Kemba Walker – 50.10 fp – 5.44x value
DeAndre Ayton – 31.10 fp – 3.65x value
Kevin Huerter – 28.50 fp – 7.91x value

Kemba Walker and Kevin Huerter came through big for us last night while Brembry and Ayton did less than we were hoping. Bremby came off the bench and played 29 minutes but only managed to hit 2 of his 6 shot attempts. Ayton played 33 minutes and scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds but was hurt by not having any blocks or steals vs the Nets. The top values from last night were CJ McCollum 9.70x value, Richaun Holmes 9.14x value and Evan Turner 8.68x value. The top fantasy point scorers were CJ McCollum with 65, John Wall 53.80 and Kemba Walker with 50.10

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 7th

We have a great 10 game Wednesday slate tonight. The highest game total of the night is 239 in LA where the Lakers will host the visiting T’Wolves. The Raptors and Kings are 2nd at 232.5 and the Bulls and Pelicans are 3rd at 228.5. As has become the norm this year, every game on the slate has a 204+ total tonight so there should be plenty of high scoring NBA Action.

💥 Paul George – OKC – SF – $10,200

Dating back to last season, with Russell Westbrook off the court Paul George has a ridiculous 38.3% usage rate and he scores 1.28 fantasy points per minute. In those games he has scored on average +7.34 more fantasy points per 36 minutes without Westbrook. Tonight the Thunder and George get a matchup against the Cavailiers in Cleveland. The Cavs are 1-9 to start the season and really look lost since the departure of LeBron James. They are not terrible defensively against the SF position, allowing right around the league average fantasy points. The usage is simply too high to overlook tonight for PG13 and he’s one my top spend up options on the slate.

💥 Derrick Rose – MIN – PG – $5,500

Jeff Teague has already been ruled out tonight, so we get another look at Derrick Rose in the starting lineup. Rose has been on fire recently, I’m sure you saw his 50 point game on Halloween night. He followed that game up by getting injured (predictably) but then followed that game up with a solid 28.6 fantasy point game vs the Clippers. Tonight he gets to take on the LA Lakers in what should be a fun entertaining game to watch. The Lakers are slightly better than league average against point guards, giving up -4% fewer fantasy points to the position. However they play at a break neck pace (108) and overall have one of the worst defensive efficiency ratings in the NBA (110). Rose should have plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points tonight.

💥 Dennis Schroder – OKC – SG – $6,400

He just joined the Thunder this season but he’s already played a few games without Russell Westbrook. Its expected that he’ll jump into the starting lineup tonight vs the Cavaliers with Westbrook out. This season he has a 32.2% usage rate with Westbrook off the floor and he has averaged 38.30 fantasy points per 36 minutes. The Cavs allowed 3% more fantasy points to point guards than the league average. They have an overall defensive efficiency rating of 115 which is dead last on today’s slate. Whenever Westbrook is out, I’m going to have heavy exposure on Schroder and George, and tonight will be no different.

💥 Cameron Payne – CHI – PG – $4,400

If you need some value tonight to fit in some of the big studs then Cameron Payne is your guy. He just played 40 minutes last game against the Knicks in double OT. He only scored 17.60 fantasy points in that game but that was due in large part to Zach Lavine dropping 41 real points on 25 shots. Payne is not someone who is going to be a sexy pick but priced at only $4,4oo in this matchup vs the Pelicans I really like him tonight. The Pelicans have allowed that most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing point guards. They allow 29% more fantasy points to point guards than the league average. Combine this with the fact that they play at one of the highest paces in the NBA (108) and also have one of the worst defensive effiriciency ratings in the NBA (112) this matchup couldn’t get much better for Payne tonight.
