Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. These players will often be priced as backups (their normal role). The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Free Square Results for yesterday – October 31st 🎃
Elie Okobo – 21.3 fp – 6.08x value
Derrick Rose – 66.80 fp – 12.14x value
Josh Jackson – 10.20 fp – 2.75x value
Josh Okogie – 26.30 fp – 5.71x value (draftkings)
Tyus Jones – – late scratch –
Steph Curry – 53.90 fp – 5.44x value
Holly Derrick Rose!!! 66.80 fantasy points and 12.14x value on Fanduel. Have a day sir!!! The others were solid, outside of Josh Jackson who looks completely lost right now. The overall best value plays on the slate were Derrick Rose 12.14x value and 66.80 fantasy points. Thad Young 9.01x value and 50.50 fantasy points and Wendall Carter Jr 8.69x value and 59.10 fantasy points. The Overall top fantasy point scorers were Derrick Rose with 66.80 fantasy points. Karl Anthony Towns with 62.20 and Wendall Carter Jr with 59.10 fantasy points.
My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 2nd
We have a pefectly sized 8 game Friday main slate and we have 4 smaller slates we can attack if we chose to as well.
💥 Royce O’Neale – UTA – SF – $3,500
Donnovan Mitchel and Alec Burks are both out tonight for the Jazz. O’Neale is expected to start and becomes one of the more popular punt plays tonight on Fanduel. Priced at only $3,500 he doesn’t have to do much to pay off this salary. Honestly, he probably wont do much but we’re not too concerned with that because of the new Drop Score format. We currently have him projected for 28 minutes and 21.6 fantasy points tonight. If he can reach that he would pay off 6.2x value for us tonight. This is a high risk high reward play for GPP’s as we’re not expecting a ton from O’Neale. The Jazz may also want to go bigger against the Grizzlies so Jaw Crowder and Rudy Gobert could be the main beneficiaries.
💥 TJ Warren – PHO – SF – $5,400
This is a great spot for Warren tonight and will be an even better spot if Isaiah Canaan is out again. With Devin Booker out there are plenty of shots to go around now in this Suns Offense. Warren has put up 30+ fantasy points in back to back games, vs the Thunder and the Spurs. He scored 30.60 in just 21 minutes vs the Thunder and had a 32% usage rate. Against the Spurs he scored 31.10 in 30 minutes with a 23% usage rate. The Suns have been pretty terrible to start the year but the opportunity will be there tonight for Warren to have a big fantasy game.
💥 Derrick Rose – MIN – PG – $6,000
Jeff Teague is OUT again tonight for the T’Wolves so Derrick Rose is fully in play here. We all saw what he did last game with Teague and Butler out, dropping 66.80 fantasy points and 50 real points on the Jazz. Rose had a 43% usage rate in that game and took 31 shots from the floor. I don’t expect that again tonight vs the Warriors but I think we can safely expect 30 minutes and 35-40 fantasy points again from him this evening. We all knwo the Warriors like to run and gun so the pace up matchup should only increase Rose’s opportunities tonight.

💥 Ricky Rubio – UTA – PG – $6,200
Similar situation here with Rubio that we saw with O’Neale above. With Donovan Mitchell and Alec Burks out, the backcourt is going to be very thing tonight. With the extra minutes and usage to go around Rubio should be a big beneficiary. So far this season Ricky Rubio is averaging about 0.82 fantasy points per minute. The matchup is not great vs the Grizzlies but the extra usage and minutes should lead to a good night.
💥 Tyus Jones – MIN – PG – $4,200
He is in the exact same spot he was in on Halloween night. With Jeff Teague out his minutes should reach the 25-30 mark this evening. If he doesn’t get late scratched again he should have no trouble paying off his $4,200 price tag. Jones is averaging 0.80 fantasy points per minute this season, so if we can project 25 minutes he should be able to score around 20 fantasy points. If he can get a few extra shots fall tonight he could approach the 25-30 fantasy points range and really pay off.
