Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Hopefully everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday and got to spend some quality time with Friends and Family. We got a day off from the NBA grind yesterday as there were zero games on the schedule. Today however we have a solid 11 game main slate with a short 2 game early slate already in progress. I’ll be focusing on the main slate below and hopefully these plays will help us dominate the competition tonight.
My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 23rd
💥 Trey Burke NYK PG $4,900
Burke has been on a tear recently and his price has yet to adjust for his recent productions. Over his last 4 games he has averaged 38.2 fantasy points. Tonight he gets a matchup vs the Pelicans who are just awufl Defensively ranking 29th in our adjusted DVP metric vs Point Guards. This game has the highest Vegas total of the night at 230.5 and I love targeting value guards in high vegas total games. Burke will be a very popular value play this evening but I think he’ll easily pay off this salary tonight in this matchup.
💥 Donovan Mitchell UTA SG $7,600
Mitchell is underpriced tonight in a great matchup against the Lakers who rank 21st in our Adjsuted DVP Metric against Shooting Guards this Season. This is a substantial pace up spot here tonight for the Jazz +4.8 vs the uptempo Lakers. Mitchell has gone over 43.9 fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games and I’m expecting another 40 burger from him tonight.

💥 Noah Vonleh NYK PF $4,800
Vonleh is another young Knick who has been having great success recently and who’s price has still not been adjusted. He has recorded back to back 40+ fantasy point games against the Celtics (41.5) and the Blazers (45.8). As we said in the above notes about Trey Burke this game tonight between the Knicks and the Pelicans has the highest total on the slate at 230.5. The Pelicans rank 27th in our adjusted DVP metric against power forwards tonight. This is a great spot here for Vonleh and a great spot for us to save some salary.
💥 Wilson Chandler PHI SF $3,800
Chandler is a player who’s ceiling is a bit limited now compared to what it was a few years ago in Denver. Now with the Sixers he’s got a new role on a new team full of taleneted All Stars. That being said he’s been played over 30 minutes in his last 2 games and he scored 10.3 and 23.2. I know those numbers don’t really jump off the page and scream PLAY ME. Stay with me here though as tonight the Sixers get a matchup with the Cavaliers who are just awful defnsively. This game will likely get out of hand and I expect Chandler to see 30 minutes or more yet again. On a big slate with so many studs to pay up for we need some value guys that just wont kill us and that’s exactly what Chandler is in this matchup tonight.

💥 Indiana Pacers
Victor Oladipo missed last game and is officially OUT tonight. All the guards get a bump tonight without Oladipo, Cory Joseph, Darren Collison are two that I really like. Tyreke Evans is also very much in play and priced moderatly at $5,800. He can still have a monster game but I don’t love it nearly as much at this price as I did the other day. Domantas Sabonis and Miles Turner are currently questionable, if they both were to miss tonight Thad Young would likely get the largest boost in minutes.
💥 Anthony Davis NOP PF $12,500
If you’re paying for a stud tonight I’m going to stay in the same game as the above mentioned Trey Burke and Noah Vonleh. The Game with a 230.5 vegas total and two very bad defenses. Over his last 5 games Anthony Davis has averaged 64.5 fantasy points. In his last 3 games against the Knicks he has put up a ridiculous average of 71.9 fantasy points. It’s pretty easy to pay up tonight with all the solid value options so don’t be worried about spending $12,500 on The Brow tonight. With a near 30 AND1 rating I’m confident he’ll delivery another monster game tonight.
