NBA Free Squares November 21st

Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.

So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Solid day for the Free Squares yesterday. Not listed above, Whiteside 54.6 fp and 6.3x value, Richardson 31.3 fp and 4.1x value, Rodney McGruder 24 fp and 4.9x value and Wayne Ellington 19.2 fp and 4.6x value. The only Heat player that really let us down was Justise Winslow 12.9 fp for only 2.6x value. All in all it was a solid day and we’re now looking to build off that with a MASSIVE 13 game slate tonight! Lets dig in shall we?

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 21st

💥 David Nwaba CLE SG $3.900

The Cavs announced that JR Smith will no longer be with the team yesterday. This team is in full tank mode this Season and it doesn’t look like they plan on giving Kyle Korver any minutes either. David Nwaba will start tonight, replacing Larry Nance in the starting lineup. In 2 of his last 3 games he has played over 26 minutes and scored over 28 fantasy points. Tonight we should see him land in that 25-29 minute mark again vs the Lakers. He’s a great value play on this slate with so many studs to pay for in elite spots.

💥 TJ Warren PHO SF $7,000

There will be a ton of hype around the Thunder vs Warriors game tonight and also with LeBron returning to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers. I expect those games to be more heavily owned than this Suns vs Bulls game which may be my favorite game on the slate. The Bulls have the 30th ranked team in the NBA in Defensive Efficiency and the Suns are ranked 29th. This game has all the makings of a good ole fashioned shootout. TJ Warren has been playing 38.9 minutes per game over his last 5 games and he’s been averaging 38.2 fantasy points. He’s going to be one of my core mid tier priced guys I build around tonight.

💥 Toronto Raptors

We’re assuming Kawi Leonard will be out again tonight since the Raptors are on a back to back. Leonard has not played a back to back all season long and I don’t expect tonight to be his first. We are also waiting on the news for CJ Miles and OG Anunoby as they are both questionable tonight. We know we can target Kyle Lowry who has a +5% usage rate and +11 fp/36min with Kawi out. Furthermore, we know we can target Serge Ibaka who has a +4% usage rate and +8 fp/36 min without Kawi. If we get word that Miles and Anunoby are out, we can use Fred VanVleet and Deron Wright as solid value options tonight who would both see an uptick in minutes off the bench.

💥 Dallas Mavericks

We already know got word that Wes Matthews will be out tonight but we’re still waiting on the Official word on JJ Barea, Dennis Smith and Dwight Powell. If all of these guys are out along with Wes Matthews the Mavericks are going to be very thin at the guard spot tonight. Luke Doncic, Harrison Barnes and DeAndre Jordan would likely get all the usage they could handle in the starting lineup. A viable punt piece on a large slate could end up being Jalen Brunson who played 25 minutes in his last game and scored 8 points, with 4 assists and 4 rebounds. If everyone above is indeed out, he could see close to 30 minutes tonight.

💥 Indiana Pacers

Victor Oladipo missed last game and is officially OUT tonight. All the guards get a bump tonight without Oladipo, Cory Joseph, Darren Collison are two that I really like. We’re also going to get another dose of Tyreke Evans. The difference tonight will be the price of Evans where he is now priced at $5,800 compared to the $4,200 he was priced at last game. He can still have a monster game but I don’t love it nearly as much at this price as I did the other day. The guy that came through with a huge game for the Pacers with Oladipo out last game was Domantas Sabonis. He played 26 minutes and scored 45.30 fantasy points in that game vs the Jazz. It was his second straight 40+ fantasy point game and tonight he could be in line for another vs the Hornets.

💥 Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL SF $11,400

I’m all in on The Greek Freak tonight against the Blazers, not really because of the matchup, but simply because he’s only $100 cheaper than LeBron James. In case you haven’t heart, LeBron is returning to Cleveland tonight to battle the Cavaliers. The return has been hyped up so much and the narrative of LeBron coming home is so strong I expect him to be the highest owned high dollar player on the slate. I will gladly take Giannis for $100 cheaper and the exact same upside (if not more) tonight over LeBron. Oh, and did I mention Giannis has the #1 AND1 rating on the slate tonight? Lock and load baby!!!
