Flynnie’s Forecheck for 11/28/18
We’re back!! After a long off-season of watching the greatest love story since Romeo and Juliet – obviously, I’m talking about Alex Ovechkin’s love affair with the Stanley Cup – it’s time to play some hockey. For those of you that are new to the DFS Army, my name is Rob Flynn. I’m an NHL DFS writer and coach inside the DFS Army. We have the best articles, coaching and tools in the industry. But let me tell you, the real money is made in the Slack chat that only our VIP’s have access to. That’s where we talk through a member’s lineup construction, thought process or just answer any DFS questions they may have. Every coach is very accessible and willing to share our own processes to help every member grow as a player.
I wrote an article describing some of my process and some tips to win. Check it out here. We also have a brand new Research station that is only available to VIP’s but here is the tutorial, to give you guys a taste of what’s coming this season. NHL DFS is very similar to DFS MLB. The volatility can be maddening, the floor of every player is ZERO and you need stacking in all contests. In cash games you need at least two players that correlate on either the scoring line or power play, to hopefully grab the goal and an assist. In GPP’s you need to stack up the entire line and hope that line goes off for multiple goals.

Without any further ado let’s dig into today’s 5-game slate.
I am primarily a cash/hybrid player but even that requires some stacking. So, I list my favorite and then I take the pieces from those stacks that fit my lineup construction. Unlike last season, I will put my stacks, D-men and goalies in order of my preference.
FORWARDS
COL 1 – Rantanen, MacKinnon, Landeskog – This line is insanely hot right now and playing at home. The biggest problem is that you are paying goalie prices for Rantanen and MacKinnon, Landeskog doesn’t have the same floor or ceiling but he is almost 2k cheaper than Nate.
FLA 1 – Barkov, Dadonov, Hoffman – This line is in just as good of a spot as COL 1 and other than Hoffman, they should come in at lower ownership. If you want to mix and match a little bit use Huberdeau or Vatrano.
CGY PP1 – Tkachuk, Monahan, Gaudreau – I love Matt Tkachuk tonight and the top line has scored seven goals in the last 10 games, DAL 1 has allowed four goals in the last ten and given up two in the last three.
Honorable Mention: TOR 1/TOR 2 (Matthews is back), SJ 1, ANA 1, STL 1, DET 1

DEFENSE
We have been paying up for defense a lot lately. I think we have an opportunity to pay down tonight. We need the value with all the studs to pay up for anyway. Burns, Letang, Rielly, and Karlsson are in play if you want to pay up – in that order.
Giordano – He makes a great GPP option tonight. He has a low floor but has consistently been testing his 25 point ceiling.
Hamonic – This is my first time writing him up this season and at $4000 he makes a fantastic cash and GPP value play. He doesn’t get any PP time but should spend quite a bit of time 5-on-5 with the top two lines.
Montour – I don’t like a lot from Anaheim tonight but if you are avoiding Andersen, Montour makes a nice beginning to an ANA stack.
Honorable Mentions: Green, Yandle, Pietrangelo, Parayko, Matheson
Our long-time VIP Joker Wins took down a GPP and had two other top-10 finishes
GOALIES
Andersen – 6-2-0/2.14/0.941 over his last 8 games. He should face a ton of shots in this game. Toronto is not allowing many goals over the last three weeks but they are 30th in shots allowed over that time. He has been playing exceptionally well and should have a solid floor and ceiling. He will be tough to pay up for though.
Rittich – Dave Rittich has been solid for CGY, over his last 5 games he is 4-1-0/1.81/0.934. Dallas is really struggling to score and CGY has tightened up their defense since the first month or so of the season. Dallas really struggles on the road. Now that he is confirmed, he will be my cash
Howard – 4-1-1/2.13/0.936 over the last three weeks, compare that to Andersen. Fanduel has caught up with the pricing but Vegas hates him. That should lead to much lower ownership against a struggling STL team
Honorable Mention: Gibson (GPP only), Grubauer
GOAL PREDICTION: Matt Tkachuk
