Flynnie's Forecheck - NHL DFS Advice for 11/10

Flynnie’s Forecheck for 11/10/18

We’re back!! After a long off-season of watching the greatest love story since Romeo and Juliet – obviously, I’m talking about Alex Ovechkin’s love affair with the Stanley Cup – it’s time to play some hockey. For those of you that are new to the DFS Army, my name is Rob Flynn. I’m an NHL DFS writer and coach inside the DFS Army. We have the best articles, coaching and tools in the industry. But let me tell you, the real money is made in the Slack chat that only our  VIP’s have access to. That’s where we talk through a member’s lineup construction, thought process or just answer any DFS questions they may have. Every coach is very accessible and willing to share our own processes to help every member grow as a player.

I wrote an article describing some of my process and some tips to win. Check it out here. We also have a brand new Research station that is only available to VIP’s but here is the tutorial, to give you guys a taste of what’s coming this season.  If you sign up to become a member, use promo code PUCK to give yourself 10% off for the life of your membership.

NHL DFS is very similar to DFS MLB. The volatility can be maddening, the floor of every player is ZERO and you need stacking in all contests. In cash games you need at least two players that correlate on either the scoring line or power play, to hopefully grab the goal and an assist. In GPP’s you need to stack up the entire line and hope that line goes off for multiple goals.

Without any further ado let’s dig into today’s 8-game slate.

I am primarily a cash/hybrid player but even that requires some stacking. So, I list my favorite and then I take the pieces from those stacks that fit my lineup construction. Unlike last season, I will put my stacks, D-men and goalies in order of my preference.

FORWARDS

PIT PP1 – Crosby, Malkin, Kessel – Figuring out where the Pitt offense is going to come from tonight is where you will make your money. They have shuffled their lines up so much that there is value everywhere, now. This three man stack will be very hard to do tonight but I like that it crosses the top three lines. Arizona’s #2 and #3 lines have been leaky over the last three games, and Malkin’s line has been the best for Pittsburgh. So PIT 2 is my favorite line stack, but a Letang, Kessel, Hornqvist stack is viable for cash/hybrid too.

CGY 2 – Backlund, Neal, Tkachuk – I am in love with this stack tonight. LAK 2 is having all kinds of defensive problems. This line has been Calgary’s best lately and Now Frolik has been replaced by James Neal. If you are looking for more of a cash/hybrid type of stack I would go Giordano/Tkachuk and maybe a Lindholm to get access to the top line too.

TB 2- Point, Gourde, Johnson – In the highest total game, I’m all for finding access to the scoring without eating all the chalk. These guys have been hot and give you a massive discount off the top line. Stack them with McDonagh and have fun.

Honorable Mention: OTT 1, CAR 1, VGK 1, TB 1, NYI 1 (risky bc they are cooling off), MTL 1, TOR 1 (should be kinda chalky and I’m off this game entirely)

$50k wasn’t even our biggest win of the MLB season

DEFENSE

Giordano – I love Calgary tonight. Gio has one of the best floors on the night in terms of shots and blocks. He will also be on the ice against LAK 2 a lot, adding to his value

McDonagh – He is shooting, scoring, blocking shots, you name it. He has a piece in so much of TB’s offense that it is hard to leave him off your stacks – even mini cash stacks.

Chabot – The only thing that will prevent me from playing him in every lineup is that I want some Vasilevskiy too. He will be the centerpiece of my OTT stacks, though.

Honorable Mentions: Theodore (sneaky in a game VGK should go bananas in), Letang, Hamilton, Faulk, Rielly, Yandle, Ekblad, Pionk

GOALIES

Vasilevskiy – He will be your runaway chalk goalie. Ottawa has the lowest ITT on the slate, TB is a -300 favorite (the first I can remember seeing this season) and TB is #1 in scoring over the last three weeks. It is a perfect cash game storm. However, Ottawa is scoring recently too – and TB is leaky defensively. This makes a fantastic game stack in GPP if you’re feeling adventurous.

Luongo – The Panthers are a solid -176 favorite and I can see this being a relatively low scoring game, with the Isles’ recent scuffles. Luongo has a 1.19 GAA but he’s only started two games so i’m not weighing that a lot, however he looked good coming back off an injury last time out.

Rittich – I’ve started to develop a DFS crush on this guy, he’s been far and away Calgary’s best goalie and LAK is brutal offensively. Keep an eye on this one because Leftwinglock has him projected and Dailyfaceoff has Mike Smith project – DO NOT PLAY SMITH.

Honorable Mentions: Halak (perfect spot to go back to the well, but I’m getting nauseous typing his name), Darling, Korpisalo

GOAL PREDICTION: Matt Tkachuk

Remember guys, always confirm the starters after morning skate.

I generally have this article out in the morning. If you guys have any questions reach out to me on Twitter or in Slack. Join the DFS Army today by using Promo Code PUCK to save 10% off your membership for life.
