Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.
Here’s the second article of the day, covering the FD main slate. For those playing on DK, make sure to read the first article of the day for information on the 6:00PM ET games. I’ll also have notes in chat covering all six games.
Point Guards
Mike Conley (7800/7900): The matchup is a good one for Conley, and interestingly enough I think he goes under-owned here. In the previous matchup against the Suns, he underperformed which could put people off him. Don’t be fooled, this is a good spot for him. Viable in all formats.
Tyus Jones (4800/4900): With Jeff Teague and Jimmy Butler out, Tyus Jones will play all the minutes he can handle here. He had a great game last time out and will be chalky today. He makes for an excellent cash play. I’ll use him in some GPPs because he is so cheap, but expect him to be highly owned there.
Shooting Guards
DeMar DeRozan (9900/8900): Two subpar games and we might finally be able to get DDR at a reasonable ownership. He is pricey, but the matchup is a prime one. Add in the most likely absence of Rudy Gay and DDR will need to do even more for the Spurs. I love him in all formats, especially in GPPs.
Devin Booker (7900/7400): Devin Booker is the plug that keeps this team going. With TJ Warren questionable, Booker will be required to do some heavy lifting. The spot is an exploitable one for Booker, and he’s projected to be the second highest scoring SG on this slate. Play him in GPPs.
Small Forwards
LeBron James (12000/10600): It’s the King. He’s in play every night and has the upside to break a slate. The matchup is not an easy one. If Leonard plays, he’ll be all over LBJ. If Leonard is out, OG Anonuby will come into matchup up against him. None of the options are good, but the preferable scenario for the King is a matchup against OG. In this scenario, LBJ becomes an all-format play.
Kawhi Leonard (10100/9400): If Kawhi Leonard plays tonight, I love him in this spot. The Lakers play at one of the fastest paces in the league and this creates opportunities for everyone. Add in the fine form Kawhi has been in this season when he plays, and you have all the makings for a huge game here. The problem here is, he is questionable, and we might not get any news on whether he plays until after lock. He’s strictly GPP due to the uncertainty.
Power Forwards
LaMarcus Aldridge (8100/7800): the price on LMA has dropped, and right now he is just too cheap on both sites, especially for this juicy matchup against the Magic. With Rudy Gay likely out, LMA will need to pick up some of the offensive slack. This makes him a really good play today in all formats.
Serge Ibaka (6500/5700): Mr. Consistent is on the slate and I’m playing him in all formats. Readers of the 6th Man article know that Ibaka is one of the most consistent in the game making him one of the best cash plays on any given day. Add in the upside he has in this matchup against the Lakers who play at one of the fastest paces in the league, and I’m very interested. He’s one of my top plays tonight.
Centers
Nikola Vucevic (9000/8200): Vucevic has been on fire this season. His price now reflects this. He has huge upside, and while this is not the best matchup on the board, he can perform in it. His price makes it difficult for most people to roster him, implying he could be low-owned in GPPs tonight. Take a shot or two with him there.
JaVale McGee (7700/6300): McGee is just too cheap on DK. For someone averaging 1.40 FFPM, the price is ridiculous. Play him in all formats on DK. On FD, he is priced accordingly. He’s an excellent GPP play on FD tonight given his upside.
I’ll have more notes in chat, covering most of the value plays on this slate and some other plays I really like.
