DFS NBA Lineup Strategies - Blande's 6th Man - Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Nov 16th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army. Eight-game slate tonight and a lot of roster changes happening around the league. The result of this is a reduction in valuable 6th Men and an introduction of uncertainty into the viability of those newly sent to the bench. As a result, tread carefully as you navigate bench players until we know more. That said, we are in the business of profiting off the bench here and I’ve got some plays. Recall pricing here is FD/DK. Let’s dive in!

CORE PLAYS

Spencer Dinwiddie (6000/5700): Dinwiddie will see 30 minutes off the bench here. He’ll run the 2nd unit and close out the game as well. Given the increased role and usage Dinwiddie is playing on this team with Levert out, he is still cheap at this price on both sites. Add in the excellent matchup he has tonight along with the 40+ point upside, he makes for an excellent all-format play.

Shelvin Mack (4800/4200): Shelvin Mack has been solid this season for the Grizzlies, averaging 30 MPG over his last 3 games and 26.2 FDPs. The matchup against the Kings tonight is a great one and given his remarkable consistency and price, Mack can be used as a value punt play in all-formats tonight. I especially prefer him on FD and in cash/hybrid lineups.

Marcus Smart (4200/3900): Marcus Smart is cheap for the upside he brings to the court if Marcus Morris is out. His matchup is a great one, and things will get even better for him in terms of minutes and usage if Marcus Morris misses this game. In that situation, Smart becomes an excellent all-format play. If Morris plays, this becomes a deep GPP play only.

GPP PLAYS

Kelly Olynyk (3900/3900): The matchup is excellent here. The only issue is the inconsistency in minutes for Olynyk. This restricts this play to GPP only. Here’s the thing, the spot is good for Olynyk and this is his kind of matchup. One against a team that can go relatively smaller and quicker, allowing Olynyk to be used more. Add in the fact that he will be practically unowned and I want to have him in my GPP pull.

Jae Crowder (4900/4700): Crowder has been hit or miss this season. When his three-point shot is on, watch out. However, it’s difficult to know exactly when that will happen. Today he gets a nice matchup against a Sixers team that has struggled to limit power forwards. The DFS Army RS projects him at 30 minutes today. If he gets hot, he could win someone a GPP in this matchup. Do not overexpose yourself here, but have a share or two.

Bogdan Bogdanovic (4400/4200): Bogdan is back from injury and is starting to see his minutes increase. We all know one of these days we are going to get one of those massive Bogdan days that wins someone a GPP and I want to be there when it happens. This play is not for the faint of heart, there is nothing good about his matchup. This play is more about trying to be there when he explodes. This is a GPP flyer play, and only on FD with the drop score format!

Honorable Mentions: Shabazz Napier, Ersan Ilyasova
