If you like making money, be sure to read all the articles our NFL staff has for you each week. If you don’t like either, take a hike. Get it? Hut Hut Hike… let’s do this Army!!
Tier 1 Draw Plays
OBJ Vs. Jalen Mills
Willie Snead Vs. Nick Nelson
Keenan Allen Vs. Bene’ Benwikere
Julian Edelman Vs. Buster Skrine
At a poker game this past week, I had a conversation with a gentleman who I’ve known for a long time. Huge Jets fan who was trying to convince me that Buster Skrine isn’t as bad as I was saying he was. 22% target rate and 69% opposing catch rate…. that’s bad. Numbers, they don’t lie. They may lie for an instance or a game, but over time they show the reality of efficiency, productiveness, and a lack thereof. Julian Edelman is a personal favorite of mine being a Kent State alum. He’s also a personal favorite of Gisele’s husband drawing 10+ targets in three straight with two hundred yard games.
Tier 2 Draw Plays
DJ Moore Vs. Shaquil Griffin
D.J. Moore stopped being a secret for us here at the Army a few weeks into the season. We saw the talent and knew it was only a matter of time before he had that game that really had everyone talking. Well, that was last week and he’s officially not a secret to even the casual DFS player. You won’t get the ownership edge this week, but he’s still underpriced industry wide and provides great value in a plus match-up.
Griffin is giving up a lot of catches this season and has still had a lot of issues improving on one of his biggest faults coming out of the draft last season, he loses leverage and allows the receiver to cut to the inside giving quarterbacks clear passing lanes. It’s also something Moore is absolutely excellent at, he runs routes better than a lot of veteran receivers. Is he going to 7 for 157 and TD again? Probably not, but 5-7 catches with some upside is extremely realistic and I’ll sign up for that all day.
Mike Evans Vs. Richard Sherman
Despite some of the great match-ups so far, this is a difficult WR week. So we need to take a shot against some tough Richard Sherman defense and when we do that, I want to at least tilt the scales in my favor. Evans is the type of guy I’m okay with against him for a couple of reasons.
The first of these is that Evans workload is safe every week, it may not be massive but it’s safe to expect a minimum of 6 targets even against one of the least targeted corners in the league. Secondly, Sherman doesn’t often give up height to receivers and is a big part of his success in this league. At 6’3 we don’t ever see him significantly undersized against his opponent but at 6’5 Evans gets the nod. It may not seem like a large disparity, but anyone who’s ever seen Any Given Sunday knows that “The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in every break of the game”….To win a GPP you need every single inch.
Golden Tate Vs. Grant Haley
Grant Haley saw almost 68% of defensive snaps last week and looks to get the start again this week. He has had some growing pains in coverage the last three weeks allowing opposing receivers to a 90% catch rate. You read that correctly and I’ll reiterate that it is on a very small sample size. But 9/10 is something we should take notice of.
You all know I love Tate and he wasn’t great last week where I really loved the spot for him. So we go after it again because I wasn’t completely wrong and he saw 8 targets. Doug Pederson is one of the smartest coaches in football and I’m sure if I can figure out that they need to try to exploit this rookie, so has he. How productive Tate can be is up for debate, but it’s always fun to be that guy at your water cooler on Monday saying “Told you so.”
Sunday Night Special
Davante Adams Vs. Xavier Rhodes
Value Town
I am quantifying value on each site by price where on FanDuel I am looking for players priced below 6K and DraftKings priced below 5k. These are the guys in GPP’s that are those targeted punts that we need to beat large fields and walk away with the trophy.
Think about this for a moment, you look at the teams at the top and say to yourself, “How in the world did this guy think rostering player X was a good idea?” Well, these are the guys who allow you to get all the heavy hitters in the same lineup. You want a swag bag, you want the big bucks, these are the guys in week 12 I think could help you get there.
FanDuel DraftKings
1. Marquise Goodwin 5K 1 . Larry Fitzgerald 5K
2. Sterling Shepard 6K 2. Courtland Sutton 4.4K
3. Christian Kirk 5.6K 3. Kenny Stills 3.9K
4. Adam Humphries 5.6K 4. Davante Parker (Q) 4.2K
5. Kendrick Bourne 4.9K 5. DeSean Jackson 4.9K
Curtsies vs Waist-Benders
