Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. These players will often be priced as backups (their normal role). The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Rought day yesterday, we only really hit on Derrick Rose, Ersan Ilyasova, Nikola Mirotic and Jrue Holiday yesterday. The others were pretty bad with several guys failing to even reach 3x value. The best values yesterday were Pascal Siakam 10.81x value, Alfonzo McKinnie 10.14x value and Klay Thompson 9.51x value. The Top fantasy scorers yesterday were Karl Anthony Towns 63.20, DeMar Derozan 61.70 and Hassan Whiteside 59.80.
My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – October 30th
We have a solid 8 game Tuesday slate today. Check out some of my favorite salary savers today below. These guys will give you solid production and help you fit in some big studs tonight!
💥 Jeff Green – WAS – SF – $4,000
Tonight the Wizards will be without power forward Markieff Morris. There are also concerns that Kelly Oubre may miss the game as well. With Morris out, I really like Jeff Green as a near min salary play on Fanduel. With Oubre out as well, I really LOVE Jeff Green in this spot tonight. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in 3 straight games. Playing nearly 25 minutes per game in those 3 as well. Tonight he’ll get plenty of run if Oubre is out, he could approach the 30 minute mark. That matchup vs the Grizzlies is not ideal but is price is too good to ignore here.
💥 Gerald Green – HOU – SG – $4,500
When James Harden is off the floor, Gerald Green immediately jumps into the “top value on the slate” consideration. The Rockets usually shift Eric Gordon into the starting lineup, which leaves the 6th man role all to Green. He put up 24.50 fantasy points last game vs the Clippers in a blowout. He played 22 minutes in that game and would have surely played more if the game stayed close. Green has never been shy about jacking up shots and he took 14 last game despite only playing 22 minutes. He’s got 35 point upside if he can get hot and he’ll be on the court plenty tonight vs the Blazers.
💥 Justin Jackson – SAC – SF – $4,000
Its funny how one bad game can change the way you look at a player. Last game Justin Jackson only scored 12.40 fantasy points vs the Miami Heat. He only played 21 minutes in that game. The gamelog watchers will see this and jump off him tonight in a great matchup vs the Magic. Also, Iman Shumpert is out for tonight’s game, so I expect Jackson to get some extra minutes because of that. Before his bad game against the Heat he had scored 21, 23.20, 28.10 and 20.50 fantasy points in his previous 4 games. I’m expecting him to be around 6 or 7x value tonight which would put him in the 24-28 fantasy points range.

💥 Bradley Beal – $6,800 – SG (Draftkings)
Draftkings specific play here. His price is simply too low for the type of player he is. He is maintaining a near 30% usage rate on the year so far. Through 6 games he has 50 DK points in two of them. A matchup against the Grizzlies may scare some people away as they’ve been very good defensively over the years. That deefnse is not going to scare me away from Beal on Draftkings today. As I said, he’s simply too cheap and carries too much upside for this price.

Chris Paul is one of my favorite players to pay up for tonight. In a game without James Harden CP3 should see much more usage and opportunities. He let us a few days ago in this same situation only scoring 32.20 fantasy points. That makes me like him even more tonight because some people my be afraid to go back to the well. Paul averages over 2.0 fantasy points per minute with James Harden off the floor. He will have a legit shot at 60 fantasy points tonight if this game stays competitive. Lock him in for a high floor, high ceiling play, even at a $9,600 price tag.
