Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. These players will often be priced as backups (their normal role). The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – October 29th
We have a solid 9 game Monday slate to tip off the week today. Check out some of my favorite salary savers today below. These guys will give you solid production and help you fit in some big studs tonight!
💥 Derrick Rose – MIN – PG – $4,800
Rose has averaged 30.1 fantasy points and 27.8 minutes per game over his last 5 games. Minnesota has one of the biggest Pace Up matchups on the slate (+5.0) as they take on the LA Lakers. When a team is in a Pace Up matchup like this, it means they are playing against a team that plays faster than they do. This should lead to extra possession and opportunities for the T’Wolves tonight. Derrick Rose has scored at least 22.90 fantasy points in 5 straight games. He has reached 5x value on today’s salary 67% of the time this season. And he has reached 6x value 34% of the time. He’s in a great spot tonight vs the Lakers.
💥 Rodney McGruder – MIA – SG – $5,600
Somehow this guy is still priced below $6,000 on Fanduel despite his amazing start to the Season. Over his last 3 games he has averaged 19 points, 8 reb, 4 ast and 35.30 fantasy points per game. In that same time span he’s averaged just over 35 minutes per game as well. So far this season he has reached 5x value on today’s price 80% of the time and he’s reached 6x value 60% of the time. He’s putting up big numbers, scoring 39.60, 40.00, 36.70 and 31.00 fantasy points in his last 4 games. He’s scored double digit real points in 4 straight games and pulled down 10 rebounds in 2 of his last 3 games. Lock him in for some solid value tonight vs the uptempo Kings.
💥 Monte Morris – DEN – SG – $4,800
He’s averaging 30.80 fantasy points over his last 3 games which is good for 6.4x value on today’s low salary. He’s clearly been the beneficiary of the Will Barton absense so far. In his last 3 games he has played 21 – 28 and 27 minute and has scored 21.20 – 28.10 and 43.10 fantasy points. You can safely expect closer to 20-25 fantasy points than you can expect 35-40 however, he’s a great value at this price. This is a pace up matchup for Denver tonight vs the Pelicans who may be without Anthony Davis.

He’s playing close to 35 minutes per game and taking nearly 20 shots per game this year for the Mavericks. He has paid off today’s price at 5x value 66% of the time and has reached 6x value 33% of the time this year. In his last 3 games he has scored 34.90, 20.50 and 28.60 fantasy points. His locked in minutes and low price should lead to another 5x value game from him tonight.
