First off, it’s preseason (PS). Take note that you will not know set minutes for most players and will get some late scratches (here’s to you, Jamal Murray). This means play lightly until the season kicks off on October 16th.

For teams that are playing tonight for the first time in NBA PS I tend to play the starters. Remember, we are looking for the most minutes possible in PS and once teams get a game or two under their belts they tend to want to “see what the young players can do.”
I like all the MIL Bucks for this reason as they have the most secure minutes of any team on the slate…but it IS preseason and coaches want to look at their depth, so “secure” is a relative term. Giannis Antetokounmpo won’t see lots of minutes, but, can put up a ton of points in a short period. Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton are in play for me. I also like Thon Maker as he should see decent run. I don’t think Brook Lopez will play more than 15-18 minutes. This outcome leaves Thon to go out and block shots, make 3’s and grab rebounds for all the fantasy goodness this slate might have to offer.
For the CHI Bulls, you can play Dunn, LaVine, Jabari (former Buck will want to show out) and Portis. Blakeney is in play as well. The Wolves and coach Thibs tend to play their starters more than most in both the PS and regular season. Take advantage. I also like Tyus Jones to get plenty of minutes in a decent spot. We will wait to see what the Clippers do with their starters (word is they are going to sit Lou Williams and one other vet) and I will share in our slack chat for VIP members (you can sign up here: DFS Army VIP). You are going to want our late breaking news and real time pivots as the season goes. We can be faster through our coaching channels than Twitter when it comes to getting you over to the viable options while the industry only complains that they burned money yet again.
The battle of New York hits Brooklyn tonight. Knox is the guy I like most from the Knicks and will also have some Dotson. I will also have some Hezonja. For BKN we don’t really know what they are planning on doing. I can see Jarrett Allen getting some run as well as Russell. I’d take a GPP shot with Napier and LeVert.

OKC will be without Russell Westbrook and this means opportunity for Dennis Schroeder should be out there for as solid a run of minutes as we can feasibly expect for preseason games. I expect to see a decent amount of Jerami Grant as well. Paul George should be the focal point of the offense, just remember its preseason and he won’t play a ton so you need max efficiency.
