DabbingPuggle’s NFL DFS “Draw Plays” for Fanduel or Draftkings Week 6

Welcome everyone, to this weeks edition of Draw Plays!! I’m your host DabbingPuggle, bringing you this weeks insights on the best WR/CB match-ups for your GPP’s. A quick note before we dive in. I like to have fun and make money; I plan on doing both things every Sunday for the next few months. If you like fun, jump in my Slack room #puggle-nfl on Sunday morning 10-1. If you like making money, be sure to read all the articles our NFL staff has for you each week. If you don’t like either, take a hike. Get it? Hut Hut Hike… let’s do this Army!!

Tier 1 Draw Plays

Julio Jones Vs. Carlton Davis

So much for Julio last week as he disappeared in the first half. This week I have him reappearing atop the tier 1 plays because there are rules to DFS. Rule number 19: If someone burns you last week, you go back to them the following one. This is especially true when you have a team total of 30 and a game total of 57. Carlton Davis is arguably the best DB on this team… the problem is that it’s wholly unimpressive on a team with a passing defense resembling the Canadian Football League. I can say that, my mother was born in Canada. Really though people, I don’t have to sell this one to you with stats. With this game going back and forth, you want a lot of shares of the best player on either side of the ball in this one.

 DeSean Jackson Vs. Robert Alford

Let’s run it back here with Jackson and talk a bit about how his Sunday should go. He won’t see a ton of targets, he’s not that guy anymore. However, he has proven to us that all he needs is one, and he is going to get at least a few of these opportunities. Alford is giving up a 127.2 passer rating this season despite keeping targets down and a modest opposing catch rate of 61%. What this tells me is that he has been susceptible to the big play and Jackson is just that type of guy. Alford does not have closing speed anymore so when he loses his receiver off the line, he’s getting burned. The narrative in this game is to pay down for Cameron Brate so you can pay up for Julio Jones and Mike Evans. It just may be what you need, but I’ll have plenty of Jackson in this spot allowing me big upside that doesn’t break the bank.

Mohamed Sanu Vs. MJ Stewart

If you can’t tell by now, I like this game for fantasy purposes. I love this play for the match-up because when you get game totals this high, you should attack in multiple spots when it makes sense, and it does. Scouts may have gotten this one wrong as the 2nd round pick is having a very difficult time adjusting to the league. He’s been bad. How bad? 88% opposing catch rate and 25% target rate in coverage type of bad. Sanu is the one guy in this game who I think can go overlooked and give you an ownership advantage, he also happens to have the best statistical edge in it.

Robert Woods Vs. Bradley Roby

I was going to give you Mike Evans or Calvin Ridley but I didn’t want to get fired mid season. One of those awesome monkeys who can sign would be able to tell you they’re also in good spots. So where else does my brain go? To the only fully healthy receiver on a team featuring a 29.5 implied team total. Roby got burned twice by Robby Anderson and Sam Darnold. Let that sink in for a moment. Now that you’re done shaking your head, start considering that Brandin Cooks is going against Adam Jones and Cooper Kupp lines up against Chris Harris Jr. That is of course assuming they both play, but it appears as if they will. Woods is priced accurately in my opinion, but after 3 straight games with at least 90 yards including two games over 100 yards and 3 touchdowns in this stretch, he’s worth paying for.

Tier 2 Draw Plays

Albert Wilson Vs. Kevin Toliver II

With all the chalk sticking out this week, we need to find sneakier spots that can pay off. I think this can be one of them provided Prince Amukamara sits out another week. Toliver has been a guy with a lot of ups and downs. He has the perfect build you want for a corner in this league but has a lot of instinctual deficiencies which have had the backup seeing almost 40% of coverage targets by opposing offenses. This play is theoretical for me, and I’ll try to explain it a bit more. The Chicago defense is very good, but they are a little banged up. Toliver is the hole in that defense that Miami should try to exploit as much as possible. It does not mean that they will and I by no means condone going all-in here. A pivot could be Danny Amendola if Bryce Callahan comes out of the slot to line up outside, but that’s risky as well. Miami should be able to bang with Chicago long enough to keep this game in reach and target Wilson often. Strictly GPP people, this isn’t the week to get cute in cash games.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Vs. Darqueze Dennard

I like how each week I can look back and find multiple things I previously wrote that help further my point for a current play. Last week I loved JuJu… I feel like this most weeks come to think of it. If you’re a fan of my article you may remember a couple of weeks ago I warned people about how good William Jackson is. He may of gotten beat by Julio, but a lot of my thoughts there came from how badly he shut down Antonio Brown last season. Last season with Jackson covering Brown he was targeted 8 times. He didn’t record a catch. We once again should see this match-up and it should open up a ton more targets for my man crush, JuJu Smith-Schuster. After 3 straight big weeks, he’s been quiet which is worrisome but the ball has to go somewhere. When Brown struggles, JuJu often benefits. Dennard is giving up a 74% catch rate out of the slot which will do just fine for me.

Chester Rogers Vs. Buster Skrine

This article has a theme, and it’s attack Buster Skrine. Emmanuel Sanders didn’t break away last week but he turned 14 targets into 9 catches for 72 yards. If I’m going to get 14 targets again here, I’d be willing to have 100% Rogers in week 6. We can’t rely on that though, but I’ll have plenty of exposure to him as he should sneak under the radar. Rogers has turned up 8 catches on 11 targets each of the last two weeks and still wildly under-priced across the industry. When Skrine starts showing me he deserves more respect, I’ll give it to him. To be fair, I’d take Rogers at this price against most nickels in this league.

Adam Thielen Vs. Budda Baker

This play comes with worry that the game gets out of hand. Though if it does it means damage is being done by someone on the Vikings, why not Thielen? He is on an absolutely torrid pace this season with double digit targets and triple digit yards in every game. Baker is allowing opposing slot receivers to an 81% catch rate, so just when we thought Thielen couldn’t be more productive, he gets a cupcake match-up. The opportunity for a big day is amplified a bit here, but we should temper expectations of him breaking the ceiling if this one gets ugly fast. He is squarely in play and could go off for a massive day if Arizona figures out how to get in the end zone early.

Value Town

I am quantifying value on each site by price where on FanDuel I am looking for players priced below 6K and DraftKings priced below 5k. These are the guys in GPP’s that are those targeted punts that we need to beat large fields and walk away with the trophy.

Think about this for a moment, you look at the teams at the top and say to yourself, “How in the world did this guy think rostering player X was a good idea?” Well, these are the guys who allow you to get all the heavy hitters in the same lineup. You want a swag bag, you want the big bucks, these are the guys in week 6 I think could help you get there.

FanDuel                                                    DraftKings

1. Keke Coutee 5.7K                                                                1 . Mike Williams 4.3K

2. Dede Westbrook 5.7K                                                      2.  Devin Funchess 4.9K

3. Robby Anderson 5.5K                                                      3.  Taylor Gabriel 4.3K

4. Chris Godwin 5.9K                                                            4.  Antonio Callaway 4K

5. DJ Moore 4.9K                                                                       5.  Adam Humphries 3.2K
