I want to start off with paying respects to one of the great sports franchise owners in modern day history. RIP Mr. Allen. You were a titan and great human being.
Sixers @ Celtics
Two games start off the NBA season tonight. The first game is the Sixers @ Celtics. The only real injury news here is that Mike Muscala is out for the Sixers. This means more playing time for “the homie”, Dario Saric. Saric will start and then run the big man duty with the second unit. At least 30 minutes for him. I am going to have plenty of lineups with Simmons, Fultz, and Embiid. I think all three can hit or exceed value and I expect most of the field to flock to the higher paced OKC@GSW game. In games that tend to be slower paced, you want to play the bigs. They will get more touches in the half court offense. For the Celtics, it’s the usual suspects. Note that Hayward will start the season with a minutes restriction and I will not be playing him much early on. While the field FLOCKS to Embiid (rightfully so) you can look at AL Horford at a fraction of the ownership (and price). Kyrie Irving will want to make a splash and send a message on opening night at home. I’m not getting cute at PG. I plan on playing studs here. Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both in play for me as well.

Thunder @ Warriors
The second game on the slate is the OKC Thunder @ Oracle to face the defending champs, Golden State Warriors. GSW are heavily favored coming in and the game has a 10 point higher total than the first one. Keep in mind that according to Steve Kerr he will keep Draymond Greens minutes in the 30 minutes a game range until he gets his wind back. He missed all but one PS game and they want to take it slow. Its an easy fade for me…I think Jordan Bell gets most of those remaining minutes and since the game likely won’t be that close he should have free reign. Also in play is Andre Iguodala. FD has him as SG and considering how weak that position is I like him there. Looney is at minimum price (FD) and will also see at least 20 minutes. If the game isn’t close he could see more.
On the Thunder side of things, the main two scorers are Paul George and Dennis Schroder. Steven Adams is certainly in play, however, he is a much better play with Westbrook on the court. When Russ plays Adams runs the pick and roll to perfection with BOTH Russ and PG. The only other plays from OKC that I am looking at are Pat Patterson, Jerami Grant, and Hamidou Diallo.
