Free Preview of Donuts' NBA DFS Positional Breakdown - FanDuel and DraftKings - Feb 5th

We’ve had ten different winners of $50,000 – $250,000 over the past several months, including another $50,000 winner this on FanDuel!. Life is good for our members and we’ve seen a 100% growth in the company and upped our staff to 25 strong, handsome, and brilliant members (massive embellishment there). It’s been quite a ride and the beautiful thing is that we have another three months of the NBA season to consistently grow our bankroll until MLB is here. Slow and steady wins the race as far as bankroll goes and that will be important for today’s slate of games.

This column is an NBA and MLB daily article that we offer for our members. It’s full of relevant statistics, trends, analytics and analysis to get the DFS juices flowing nice and early in the morning. The plays and opinions, including specific GPP strategy, is broken down in detail in Slack chat by our 5-NBA DFS Coaches who all submit daily Slack notes close to lock time so that our members have up to the minute injury analysis.

Enjoy the fruits of my labor!

PG
Darren Collison – 18.6% usage rate, 0.91 fpm, + matchup against Satoransky/Frazier

He is the perfect cash game point guard as he has mid-30’s upside and a floor that won’t sink you if he doesn’t make value. In his last 12 games he has made value 10 times at his current price and exceeded value on 6 occasions.

Damian Lillard – 28.5% usage rate, 1.15 fpm (highest at pg position), 36.5 Min/G is second to none

He’s an elite cash/gpp option on FanDuel as he’s $1,500 underpriced. At his current price tag, he’s exceeded value in 9 of the last 13 games.

Jamal Murray – 21.6% usage rate, .86 fpm, hosting Charlotte who is on the second leg of a b2b and in Denver

He’s exceeded value in 3 of the last 7 games and missed value in the other 4. He’s purely a GPP only but with tired legs across the court he could reign down the threes as the Hornets struggle to close the gap on Murray, Will Barton, and Gary Harris as they launch from outside. High ceiling GPP play in a delicious spot.

SG
Bradley Beal – 26% usage rate in 5 of last 6 games, 45.60 FanDuel points in 4 of last 5 games, highlighted by a 66.90 point outing

He’s clearly becomes the de-facto point guard and play maker for the team while John Wall is OUT. He’s had 5 + assists in each game that Wall has missed and for some reason is priced at just $8,400 on FanDuel. He’s a cash game lock and will be tough to fade in GPPs against the Pacers, who over the last 10 games have allowed the most 3-pointers to opposing shooting guards.

I don’t want to break this position down anymore because I actually think it might be the key to the slate on Monday. Members will receive full positional breakdown and strategy employment via Slack.

SF

Josh Richardson – The Magic have allowed 58.9 FanDuel PPG to opposing shooting guards, buoyed by 8.4 rebounds and 8.4 assists over the last 10 games. J Rich plays a lot of the 2 and 3 while rotating with Ellington and Winslow. No matter what spot he’s playing more tonight he is in a superb spot at a very week SF position.

Otto Porter – He’s a great cash game SF as he has made or exceeded value in four straight games, ranging between 32.10 to 44.70 fantasy points. He has seen nearly an 8.0% usage rate spike since Wall went down with an injury, clearing over 20.48% usage in every single game since then.

Danilo Gallinari – Chalk, meet Gallo. At just $5,700 on FanDuel, he’s your cash lock of the day. Over the course of the entire season he’s only not cleared 20-fantasy points twice. He’s taken double digit shots in all but one game this season and has returned to a team that lost Blake Griffin and all the usage he soaked up. Gallo will be expected to be the secondary scoring option after Lou Williams and he’s stepped up in his first two games since his return.

PF
Markieff Morris – He’s taken double digit shot-attempts in five straight games since Wall went down, resulting in four outings of 32-plus FanDuel points and a low of 27.40 points. He’s a fantastic cash game option and perfect four our “Ladder System”.

Our Ladder System is an investment strategy of selecting certain types of players and entering a specific contest structure to increase your potential ROI in the most optimal format. It is something we teach our members in Slack quite frequently.

Kelly Olynyk – Nearly a 30% usage rate this season without Whiteside and is a cash game lock if Whiteside is out again. He took 19-shots and scored 37.10 fantasy points last game and similar results likely against the Magic are inbound. We will have to pay close attention to the news because like it or not, he’s one of the locks of the slate if Whiteside is out.

He could be in line for 30-plus minutes against the Magic who are allowing opposing power forwards to make 53% of their shot attempts over the last 10-games. That’s the second worst rate in the NBA. Oh boy…

Bobby Portis – He is in a superb spot on Monday because Mirotic has been traded to the Pelicans and Markkanen won’t be available due to travel complications. Portis has a usage rate near 30% without Markkanen and Mirotic and likely will play in the upper 20’s minutes. Fire up Portis and don’t get cute.

C

Robin Lopez – Believe it or not he’s going to be one of my favorite cash game options as he should be relied upon to soak up heavy minutes at center tonight with the Bulls missing both Mirotic and Markkanen. Last game being the second time all season that this scenario took place, Lopez played 36 minutes and finished with 34.10 fantasy points. His usage rate was a healthy 19.5% as well, buoying his floor and boosting his ceiling.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the dozen other premier plays, along with identifying those options I will provide specific designations as to what to use them in and what type of strategy to take if fading the chalk. There are also a couple very troubling issues some teams will have tonight with rest and travel concerns that could leave them looking like they’re playing with weights around their ankles. There is massive GPP appeal in those games and I cannot wait to break those down.

I’ll update my NOTES later in SLACK based on news cycle and do my “cash game” list again with an asterisk next to my cash game core to build around.

Best of luck,
