NHL Advice – Matchups and Focal Points
WPG v MIN – Winnipeg’s D1 line is both a strength and weakness. They are pumping a lot of shots on goal and scoring some. They are also on the back end of a back to back….watch for exhaustion. However, they are allowing the same. Minnesota’s D1 line is also a strength and weakness. This game’s blue liners might decide how things pan out. But, overall, I don’t see this being some awesome game to target.
BOS v MTL – Boston has been hot lately. BOS1 and BOS3 have been producing. So have all their defensive pairs from D1, D2, and D3. There are a lot of stacks available to you here, and we will be saving those details for our VIP members in Slack today. There is no clear liability on the Bruins over the past few games. That puts Montreal in an interesting spot. MTL2 has produced in the short term past, but that seems to have worn off a bit lately. The D1 is still running well with Petry, but they are both (MTL2 and D1) also a liability BOS can attack tonight. BOS is in a highly favorable spot with plenty of room to get creative in GPPs.
PHI v NJD – PHI1 continues to roll, very playable. D1 has two great men producing along with them, too. Great stack tonight, your only concern is how NJD will matchup against them with that home-ice change advantage. PHI1 and D2 are your liabilities lately, giving NJD a couple of targets if they can only execute. D1 for the New Jersey Devils is running best in terms of shots and production. The other lines are not showing much cohesion, but Taylor Hall is a stud (hint: one-off). NJD2 and D2 appear to be their weak links and where PHI1 might just matchup by default tonight if NJD gets cute on their own.
NHL DFS Tool – Statistics Picks and Plays

COL v DAL – Above is a sample of the stats tool we VIPs use inside the Army. There are not a lot of lines more efficient right now than COL1. Great cash game stack with upside in GPPs being hockey is such a volatile sport. No visible liabilities on a team everyone still underrates. -200 Vegas favorite will, however, put a lot of people on the DAL goalie tonight. I have my reservations. Only the D1 and D2 for the Stars are running well currently outside of Tyler Seguin (another great one-off, or paired with Klingberg). However, that D2 of Dallas is a liability at this time. They can be targeted tonight.
EDM v VGK – Edmonton comes off the back end of a road back to back tonight with their heavily vulnerable EDM2 line and D1 pairing. This becomes a huge green light for arguably the league’s most consistent unit VGK1. Paired with D1 and D2, the Golden Knights are in a chalky spot. The Knights own weakness is also their strength as it seems they don’t get back on defense well. If you dare roster any Oilers, it should be those set to matchup against VGK2, D1, and D2.
ANA v LAK – The top line of Anaheim (ANA1) is rolling in it’s last three games along with their D1, which actually leads all defensive pairings in goals scored over the L3 games. However, ANA2 is a liability the LA Kings can target in counter attacks. For LA, their own top line may or may not matchup against the 2nd Ducks line being they have home ice shift change. But, that LAK1 is cruising as well. No apparent weakness for the Kings, as they are usually a very strong defensive club.

ARI v SJS – Arizona has it’s own back end of a back to back to deal with. While at home last night, they did have to travel to San Jose, unpack bags, sleep, and get ready for tonight’s game. Arizona really doesn’t bring a lot to the table with their heavy road splits, but Chychrun is an outstanding value if you really need the savings. Both defensive pairings, however, have been bad lately. D1 and D2 can and will be targeted by Sharks. The only real advantage San Jose brings is Brent Burns and their own D1. He is rolling like mad over the past 10 games and beyond. Truly and elite defenseman, and will cost you like one, too. If Arizona can muster anything, SJ is willing to give it up. Both SJS1 and SJS2 are horrid right now, and the D1 is giving up goals and shots, also. I don’t see ARI capitalizing, but if you are a deeply contrarian GPP player there is logic to the play.
