NBA Data Dive for FanDuel and DraftKings on Friday, Jan 26rd

We’ve had nine different winners of $50,000 – $250,000 over the past several months, including another $50,000 winner this past Sunday on FanDuel!. Life is good for our members and we’ve seen a 100% growth in the company and upped our staff to 23 strong, handsome, and brilliant members (massive embellishment there). It’s been quite a ride and the beautiful thing is that we have another three months of the NBA season to consistently grow our bankroll until MLB is here. Slow and steady wins the race as far as bankroll goes and that will be important for today’s slate of games.

Let’s get to work!

Tim Hardaway Jr. is in a superb spot. He rested on the front-end of a back to back and there is an outside chance that Kristaps Porzingis will rest on the second leg on Friday. In this scenario, THJ would have a usage rate of 28.8% and scoring nearly .9 FPM. In a nice pace-up game against the Pheonix Suns who in their last 10-games have allowed 32.5 points per game (actual points) to opposing shooting guards, THJ has an elite ceiling for his mid-tier price tag of $6,400.

Michael Beasley will be another popular option and likely as chalky as it gets if Porzingis is indeed ruled out. In this scenario, Beasley would start at power forward and has a ridiculous 32.1% usage rate and averages 1.13 fantasy points per minute. If Porzingis is out, Beasley is someone I don’t mind just eating the chalk for in cash games.

Zach LaVine has had a usage rate of 29.03% or higher in each of the last five games. His minutes cap has been elevated to 28-minutes and he has a superb matchup against the Lakers. The Bulls are implied to score 9.0 points more than their season-long average. Yes, yes, yes!

If you were playing Isaiah Thomas when he was mid-5k then you should be playing LaVine at the same price point. Their usage rate and field-goal attempts per 36-minutes are nearly identical. I love the idea of using THJ and LaVine at SG on FanDuel and giving myself a strong ceiling of around 80-points for just about 12k.

Darren Collison is in an elite spot against the Cavaliers. The Cavs are giving up 59.2 FanDuel PPG to opposing point guards over the last 10-games. This includes a ridiculous 52% field goal rate and 28.5 actual points per game.

Collison doesn’t need to have elite usage in order to capitalize on his matchup with a weak defense because his price tag leaves plenty of wiggle room. At just $5,400 he won’t sink your lineup if he doesn’t reach value and if he exceeds it then he is the type of play that can win you a GPP by returning 40’sh fantasy points and allowing you to pay up elsewhere. He’s also a nice leverage play off of Victor Oladipo because most DFS players won’t use both Collison and Dipo.

Isaiah Thomas continues to find himself in tremendous spots and continues to miss shots. Fortunately, in DFS we don’t have to worry too much about prior results. If you do worry and find yourself game log watching then you are too results oriented. Oh boy, I am going down the rabbit hole. I’ll leave this type of “fixing” to Slack for our members. Nothing to see here, carry on.

With an elite 29% usage rate and a below-average .88 FPM rate, IT2 finds himself in a precarious position. He’s being used a ton, he’s in a delicious matchup with the Pacers, and his team has a higher implied total by a full 4.0 points than their season-long average. That being said, his shot isn’t falling and he continues to deliver weak statistics across the board. For now, IT2 belongs in GPP contests, although I wouldn’t fault you for ending on him in cash games, however, I just believe that approach would be sub-optimal.

Devin Booker likely will play around 34-36 minutes and have a usage rate of close to 36% if T.J. Warren and Alex Len are out. In addition to those two missing, Greg Monroe might also start (lock of the century if so) which would actually mean the Suns would have a couple nice inside and outside options against the sloppy Knicks defense. Booker has shown a 50+ ceiling about 20% of the time this season which makes him an ELITE GPP option on both FanDuel and DraftKings. He’s also priced down due to his recent struggles. You know what to do here…

Josh Jackson will be one of my favorite large field GPP plays of the entire slate if T.J. Warren misses the game. The Knicks are giving up the 5th most fantasy PPG to opposing small forwards and Jackson has the type of aggressive game that can exploit their defensive weakness’.

If Alex Len, TJ Warren both are out and Marques Chriss is active, Jackson would have the second highest usage rate on the entire team in this scenario (26%). What makes him even more appealing is the fact that without Len and Warren, the Suns have played small ball and Jackson actually leads the team in minutes played this season with those two out. Shocking!

***There is a reason we had three members finish in the top-12 in the $9 Legendary Layup on FanDuel this past Monday and have had 9-different members/coaches win between $50,000 – $250,000 in a single contest. Elite analysis and research, kind of like the stuff above, is dissected and delivered to our nearly 1,700 (out of over 2,000 members) in our company Slack chat service (which is free with your membership). In addition to the daily podcast, three daily articles, and optimizer + simulation program, the full-time NBA coaches write updates game notes and player picks about 60-90 minutes prior to the NBA lock time. After the notes have been delivered we have a dedicated channel for NBA News/Notes/Injuries and update in real-time so you don’t get stuck with a last-minute scratch in your lineup. If you’ve been burned by analysis done at 7am or not had up to the minute injury analysis and pivtos, then go ahead and click this link and give us a try. It is worth a month of trying us out and if we don’t deliver the goods then go ahead and just don’t renew. Judging by our ridiculous customer retention rate and growth of nearly 120% over the NFL and NBA season thus far we think you’ll enjoy your stay!

***I am going to break that down and many other Cash/GPP picks and strategies in Slack for our members in my afternoon notes. These are the types of notes we pump out (myself and the other three full-time NBA coaches) in Slack for our members***

***If you want the rest of my plays you’ll have to sign up and join in on the 1,700 (out of a little over 2,000 members) people we have in our company Slack chat service. We have 23-staff on board and multiple full-time coaches/content providers that give out pre-game “notes” about the entire slate with updated plays, picks, pivots, and research that only our members receive. We average 57,000 messages PER WEEK in Slack which means there is a TON of information being shared and discussed. We also provide one on one coaching to any member that signs up and joins Slack (invite to the email you used to sign up).

We hope you join and become one of the “helmets” that you see all over the FanDuel and DraftKings standings (that’s our logo that we created for members to use) and if you take down first place and win $5,000 or more you receive a sweet “swag bag” and join our wall of fame. We’ve had around 60-members join it this NBA season already. You can read about those and more HERE!

Again, I am SO sorry, but I can’t give away all the goodies for free. I’ll break down who goes into what category and how to leverage specific ownership to our members in Slack. Along with our multiple daily articles, daily podcast, simulation model (1,000 simulated games using analytics and match-ups to derive at a floor/ceiling projection for every player), and optimizer, our NBA content is second to none. I implore you to check out our testimonials and hop into Slack nice and early to enjoy a full day’s worth of research, discussion, and updates for this delicious slate!

***Along with dozens of articles across every DFS sport offered, we have an optimizer that we poured two years of funds into in order to bring you the best platform possible, multiple podcasts – including daily NBA and MLB and twice weekly for NFL, we also have a beautiful analytics corner and simulation program – filled with research and projections that you’d have to pay more money for just to be able to see and use on other sites – and we just lay it out for you all on one page. Last but not least – our Slack chat service for members only (57,000 + messages are sent weekly between our 2,000’sh members and 23 staff on chat).
