For many players with smaller bankrolls sites like Fantasy Draft offer you an amazing opportunity. With the contests being smaller they are much more winnable and they offer out great payouts still. Not only are the contests smaller making them easier to find first, they also pay out a better percentage of the field. If you have struggled on Draftkings or Fanduel with large GPP’s go check out Fantasy Draft. Even cash can be made better with rake free H2H contests.
The Objective
Our goal here is to help you find those winning value players for Fantasy Draft (FD2). We will look to find value plays as well as plays from the Sunday night. Important note there is no longer any MNF game for the main slate on FD2. The scoring on FD2 is the same as DK, but there is an extra Flex spot to play with. The salary cap is also 100k instead of 50k which means the salaries are inflated to match. There are still some small differences between the salary algorithm between FD2 and DK. Most players on FD2 are actually a slight percentage lower than they would be on DK. Meaning a player like Bell at top dollar on both sites is actually 1% lower cap use on FD2.
Defenses
Flip a coin and that can help you determine if you want to take NE on the road against Denver for your bonus defense. NE has not been anything resembling a defense we would want to use for DFS. Denver has looked like a high school football team. I would be all over NE if they were priced for their previous production and not current match up. At 6400 I would rather pay up 300 more for LA Rams.
When it comes to saving money the two options I would look at are Minnesota and NY Jets. The Jets are my preferred option, but both of these teams are priced low. I would rather pay up a little this week and use some of the great value we have at other positions. If you want more options for running defense check out Geeks full player list or my list.
Running Backs
Running backs are a great spot to stack with your Defense which is why they are next on the list. Gurley and LA Rams or Fournette with Jacksonville are just two great examples. This week there are just so many defenses that can be stacked with your running back. There are so many great picks this week besides these three. My running back list is one of the longest I have had this season.
Powell –
Bilal Powell is basically a lock play for the week. Priced at 8300 going against a shitty TB defense is already appealing. Then add the fact that Forte is out and the pick just becomes the go-to pick. Use Powell in cash, gpp, hybrid, or even your NBA lineups.
Booker –
This is not safe for cash (NSFC) by any means. Devontae Booker is simply a risky play that has some upside in a softer matchup. Booker only costs 6500 so if he can break just one long run for a touchdown he can pay off that 6500. There is the large risk of it being one of the other RBs games. There is also the chance that Denver is so flat that he cannot do anything. I just like the chance for great things if we get lucky.
Darkwa –
Breaking the bank Orleans Darkwa comes in at 9500. This is about as great of a spot to play Darkwa as he will see all season. San Fransico is bad and NYG do not have a lot of options for offense. If Darkwa can see 15-20 carries and 1-3 catches he could easily break off for his salary.
Quarter Back
One of the great things about Fantasy Draft having the night game is it gives us exposure to players that can differentiate us from Draftkings without risking our Draftkings lineups. The bonus game for this week in my book is a full fade. Denver may have looked bad last week, but I do not want to buy Brady at the 2nd highest salary for the week. Now we will take a look at a few options for FD2
Roethlisberger –
I know we want to look for value but we have so much value we have to pay up somewhere. Ben Roethlisberger has not passed 20 points in a game all season. He is also known for being shit on the road. With all of that there is plenty of reasons to fade Big Ben, but let me give you an example of why you may want to pay up for him this week. The last three games Big Ben has faces Indianapolis he has thrown 13 touchdowns with zero interceptions. He has not been sacked and has only been hit 2 times. Indianapolis is not close to better than they were in any of those three games. I expect Ben to have all day to throw the ball and all of the pass catchers will benefit.
McCown –
Giving us another great value play McCown is set up perfectly. Priced at 10,900 with several weapons at the bottom price to stack with. I cannot see McCown not having a great game against a dead in the water Tampa Bay team. The biggest risk to McCown will be Powell getting to many touchdowns on the ground before TB is so far behind that NYJs pull their foot off the peddle.
Wide Receivers
It would be pretty easy to point out the wide receivers who will be bonus plays for us this week, but I am wanting to dive into some value plays. If you are playing any of the QB above feel free to stack them with their big name WR. Make sure to check into Geeks picks for a full VIP look at each WR.
We will look at a few 10k or lower options who can help full out your flex for GPP or give you room to play 4 stud RB in cash or GPP. The best thing about two flex spots is it gives you the ability to be different without having to worry about ownership nearly as much. Just remember these are punt type plays which stand out due to match up. They are not a sure thing, but they can make a great 1 off in your lineup to give more salary cap for the studs.
Anderson –
Robby Anderson is 9500 and set up just like the rest of the NYJ offense. With a TD in his last three games and at least 4 in his last 2 games, Anderson is in a great spot to score this week. I like him either stacked or left naked on any site this week.
Jackson –
DeSean Jackson could have a great increase in targets with Evens out on suspension. The only problem is he is going to get a backup QB who can either be Fitzmagic or Fitztragic. We will not know how this will pan out until the game. With a salary of 10,300, this is a great spot to grab Jackson for some upside risk.
Brown –
Antonio Brown is not value saving, but again we have a lot of value we can grab this week. Brown will see 10 targets any given week. In a week where Ben can stand in the pocket all day those passes should be easily catchable. If he gains zero yards on 10 catches he starts at 10 points. Add the yards and the chance of a yard bonus we could see 25 points before we even talk TDs.
Tight End
Fells –
Boosted to the starting lineup against Greenbay before only catching the ball once. Detroit gets a much easier matchup this week against the Browns who are the worst defender of TightEnds. Only costs us 5600 to find out if this is the game that Fells can start producing.
The rest of the tight ends that I really like are all going to come at some cost. If you need to save money the only other name that pops out at me is Kroft.
If you are not playing on Fantasy Draft yet, you should be. I have given you a small taste of FD2 and finding some value and stud plays. For mo, e you can check out Geeks full DK list to help you find some big PPR plays.
