For this series, we’ll be comparing the top options that we had going into the Sun-Mon slates vs. reality, how it affected our strategies in the previous week, and what it’ll change going forward.

Week 10 was another turbulent week in the NFL. Marquee backs failing to break tackles while others combine for four touch downs on one offense? Let’s look at how things shaped up.
Quarterback
| QB | Projection | Actual |
| Stafford | 17.47 | 22.66 |
| Prescott | 18.9 | 13.24 |
| Ryan | 18.57 | 15.6 |
Stafford as our number one pick this week worked out well. Solid match up + consistent floor was what we were looking for. The highest total on the slate ended up being a pedestrian game which worked against our favor. We did see a variety of other QBs this week at H2H as for the first time, people were shifting their line ups outside of the core match ups this week. While I never ran into Goff, I did see a healthy share of Brees at 13.96. With QB generally being a consistent commodity, there wasn’t much reason to reach outside a core of 3-4 this week and the field agreed with me.
Running Back
| RB | Projection | Actual |
| Bell | 23.99 | 13.7 |
| Fournette | 19.13 | 5.6 |
| Gurley | 20.15 | 16.6 |
| Howard | 16.77 | 5.4 |
| Gordon | 16.65 | 6.7 |
Fournette ended up being a major dud this week (along with basically everyone else). I mentioned in the VIP article a lot of people were grabbing him as their first pick which paved the way to Gurley/Bell stack. If you were picking second and went RB/RB, Gurley/Fournette didn’t kill you since basically it was a flat outcome for most of the board. In general most line ups I ran or ran into combed Bell + dud or Fournette + dud making it a wash. It came down to WR this week which was surprisingly where the points were mostly made up. I will note I ran into 1/50 LUs with Ingram. I didn’t do well in that contest.
Wide Receiver:
| WR | Projection | Actual |
| Green | 13.96 | 20 |
| Brown | 19.93 | 6.2 |
| Gronk | 13.43 | 9.4 |
| Jones | 15.88 | 8.7 |
| Tate | 12.94 | 18.7 |
| Shepard | 12 | 19.7 |
| Sanu | 10.74 | 4.4 |
This week we chose match up over talent. Green was in a prime spot and was my #1 pick at WR this week. It ended up the people I played weren’t targeting him at all, but instead focused heavily on Brown & Gronk. Skipping Jones and popping down to Tate or Shepard paired with Green ended up being the magic combo this week. In the VIP article I talked about pairing WRs that were in good spots and spreading your line ups to multiple offenses. For example if you didn’t grab Stafford, grab Tate.
This week is going to be another interesting shift in strategy from previous weeks. As the people you encounter in your H2H match ups start adapting to your strategies, making a pivot to another methodology is what keeps you ahead. With power house teams off the board for the Sunday only slate, stay tuned for smart Draft pivots the rest of the field won’t be looking for.
