Daily Fantasy "The Point After" DFS Army NFL Review Preview Week 12

Hopefully, you dodged the injury bug with your daily fantasy lineups and salvaged a good week.  Injuries to some key players served to keep lines low for sure.  I won’t rehash those for you.  You know who they were.  I will say that Sunday Night game carried a couple of hammer plays that repaired a lot of damage for you if you played them.  I had Cousins and Crowder stacked in a couple spots and those lines wound up fine.  Anyone playing Fat Rob did fine as well (his nickname for himself, not mine for him).

Why do we stack?  Well, obviously because if one player does well the other correlated player does well too.  It’s an efficient way to accumulate points in what feels like twice as fast as without.  I’ll point out one play since I was watching closely at this point.  Late in the game, Cousins aired one out 50 yards to Jamison Crowder.  50 yards for Cousins.  50 yards for Crowder and the catch.  That was about 7.5 points depending on the site you play in one shot.  Had Crowder got into the endzone, that would have added another 10 for the TD pass and the TD catch making the single play worth about 21.5 points to me.

Without the TD, it vaulted me from barely hanging onto the cash line in double ups to well over the triple ups, barely into the quintuple ups, and threatening to cash in my GPPs.  That’s a huge move on one play.  And, it definitely shows the potential of stacking a QB with his WR.  I jumped past hundreds of players in those contests on one play.  And, this type of play happens for someone every week in daily fantasy sports.

This may be a small tidbit for you.  Heck, you may already fully understand the strategy.  But, this is the type of stuff we constantly discuss in our Slack Forums at the DFS Army.  We constantly talk DFS and which plays look best, which don’t, and which stacks correlate the best in a given week.  If you are sick of knowing more than your friends and are looking for a more DFS-centric crowd to run with, I have them for you.  They are the VIPs inside our community…. dfsarmy.com.  Look into becoming a VIP and either broaden your daily fantasy knowledge across all the major sports, or share your knowledge with those that will actually listen (unlike your friends that surely by now think you are an obsessed nerd or don’t think you actually know shit).

The Winners’ Circle – Week 11

Take a look at some of these!  This is what we do.  Our chatting all week about NFL and DFS leads to wins.  We don’t give lineups out.  We help you pick the players yourself so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor all to yourself.  Then, we bring the lineup here and brag about you to the world.  None of these lineups are the same, and all of our guys put in the work themselves.

If you read my piece on leveraging your contest selection, you undoubtedly heard about The Ladder.  Well here are two of mine for you.  One nearly swept (that last WAS pick or the Cousins knee, I don’t know which, backed me out of the GPP in the last minute of the game….so the DK one didn’t cash the GPP.  I grabbed it early because once the contest ends, the screenshot isn’t nearly as organized and pretty to display.)  But, even the FD one is nice.  $6 profit on $10?  Yes please.  I’ll take that every week.  Produce a decent lineup consistently, and you will do exactly this.

To learn more, read The Ladder System and you’ll see why this structure works for smaller bankrolled players in daily fantasy.

THE REAL DAILY FANTASY WINNERS!!

The DFS Army produced a couple of King of the Beach finalists that took their shots this week at winning some serious prize money on top of some serious vacation time in the Bahamas.  We had one make it and one just barely miss.  We were all gathered last night as Cousins heated up knowing our two members had Cousins in their lines.  That Slack chat was lit up with activity as everyone cheered and booed every play.  If you haven’t ever experienced a bunch of players from around the nation/world rooting you on in real time, you haven’t experienced the Army yet.  And, once you do, you won’t go anywhere else.  It’s a feeling of comradarie like no other.  Here are their final standings.

Hat Tip To Burns for a Valiant Effort

This isn’t sucking ass.  We all watched as he bounced in and out of the top 50 needed to make the finals.  It was a brutal thing to endure, and I’m sure none of us were going through a tenth of what he was.  The $4,000 consolation might look pretty, but this was for all the glory and every one of us ached for him when the final whistle blew.  Great job in the grand scheme.  Hopefully, some day we can all look back and celebrate how great a job this really was.

Hunter Advances to Atlantis

If I have this right, he’s heading to the live final at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas.  If not, someone will undoubtedly correct me.  Meh….you get what you pay for in my news reporting.  But, the point is this is badass!   Hunter was in and out of our Slack chat discussing his plays and thoughts all week.  Lots tried to help, and lots just sat back and watched the strategy unfold.  Where did he go chalky?  Where did he go off the herd?  Why?  That was all discussed, along with all the options, in our Slack for VIPs to learn.  We are a very open community of soldiers that share as much as we can with everyone.  I keep saying you don’t have this kind of access anywhere else, yet I still think people out there think I’m just a ‘yes man’ doing whatever he can to promote the website.  You are only partly right.  I am telling you that you will learn more here than with any other subscription site anywhere and we are BY FAR the most affordable.  Want to learn from our coaches?  They will teach you.  Want to watch as guys go to live finals around the world and drag 4 and 5 figure prizes on a routine basis?  I can introduce you to them immediately.  But, you have to act……or forever wonder why the world of DFS is getting harder and harder by the day.  (Once again, I’ll have a coupon gift for you at the end of the article if I finally kicked you off the fence.)  Here is Hunter’s lineup….

In case you can’t see that, it’s a $19,900 payday at the top of that group of tourneys.  That’s right, it rounds up to $20k!  Congrats Hunter, we all wish we were you today.

Daily Fantasy Week 11 in Review

NO/CAR – Thud.  Even though we were high on this game, it did what Thursday games can do…..fall a little flat.

BUF/CIN – You saw the injuries.  I saw the injuries.  Those hurt, but were perhaps chalky enough you could recover.  My point…….don’t get too high or too low on your player performances on the noon games.  Don’t even do it at halftime.  Adjustments get made.  You don’t have to be perfect in every spot most times.  Only the huge GPPs and qualifiers require that kind of precision.  I will add once AJ went down, the top 3 receivers were Boyd, Eifert and Gio.  Might have cheap value next week in there somewhere.

PIT/CLE – Kind of went as expected.   Wind played it’s part, but Bell was a predictable beast and Cleveland has no weapons to compete.  Sorry Browns fans.  It is what it is.  However, McCown appeared and Barnidge caught a TD.  Hmmmmm.

BAL/DAL – Only profound thing I have to say here is when Zeke doesn’t absolutely beast, it looks like Dak is capable of throwing more now than earlier in the year.  I’ve honestly never seen anything like this from a rookie drafted so low.  It’s really fun to watch.  BAL has a defense, they just don’t have weapons outside SSSr.  I hate them for fantasy and only play them when I’m truly desperate.

JAX/DET – People were bitching about Bortles.  Well, he is what he is this year…..not much.  ARob is dependent on him, which sucks.  Marquise Lee is ok as long as he remains cheap.  But, I don’t like this offense at all week in and week out.  I almost fell for them vs the Lions.  I had one share of ARob and one share of Lee.  And, that was too much.  DET is disappointing outside of Riddick.  And, Riddick is only useful due to ppr and 1/2 ppr.  The rest are unpredictable as hell.

TEN/IND – This was supposed to shootout.  I guess it was kind of ok, but not what we thought.  I want to pay attention to Rishard Matthews, but he seems to alternate weeks with Delanie Walker.  I never expected Mariota to do what he did the previous week.

TB/KC – Oh my GAAAAWD KC is boring as watching shit dry in the field.  They have no playmakers to speak of in the receiving corps.  Sure, you will argue Tyreke Hill and I’ll remind you of Alex Fucking Smith.  Dude had 1st and goal on the 7 and never once threw a ball into the endzone in the air.  His longest pass………from the 7………was 4 yards.  That’s just playing like a pussy.  And, their playing style allows teams to hang around and steal victories from them.  The defense is good, but I’ve said it for weeks, they gamble.  If they miss said gamble, they get burned.  Winston was going one way or the other.  He was able to burn them a bit and played well.  I don’t trust he’s some elite QB, but he can certainly have some good games.  Good luck predicting them though.

ARI/MIN – Well, what the hell happened here?  DJ confirmed he’s a stud and is matchup proof.  I’ll echo it again like I did 4 weeks ago.  DJ is the new “best RB in the game.”  You argue Bell all you want, and you have an argument, but you aren’t convincing me to vote for a different President. Oh shit…….sorry, still hung on that crap.  I meant for a different RB.  Hell, the principles are the same.  We believe what we believe and we don’t change our minds on things like that.  Get over it. I don’t know what to say about MIN other than it was a very nice win……………..for their defense.  Bradford isn’t going to put up 30 with his arm.  Defense better play every week.  It is what it is.

CHI/NYG – More shit drying in the field.  Go ahead and chase those Rashad Jennings points.  Shit dries in a field and the sun shines on my dog’s ass once in awhile.  Nuff said.  There is a little daily fantasy goodness on these teams, but it’s really hard to pull to the surface consistently.

MIA/LAR – Gurley lovers, I told you that you were stupid.  Did you listen?  No.  You can tell me he brought some value, and I’ll tell you that you got lucky as a fucky ducky.  If he doesn’t score (and he won’t often), his price is still too high.  Those of you that drafted him in the first round of your season longs…..ha.  How’s missing the playoffs feeling?  DFS’rs should take note.  He isn’t very good in THIS offense.  It’s Jeff Fisher’s fault, and those dumbasses in LA are talking of extending Fisher’s contract again!  Gurley goes the way of Stephen Jackson.  Great back anywhere but the Rams.  Could be phenomenal.  But, when that hot chick marries a hairy-backed, trailer livin, beer guzzlin, dog beatin, 8 cars in his front yard that don’t run fixin fat ass in overalls…….she is going to become a redneck, too.  (Disclaimer:  This is an entertainment piece.  If Chris Rock can tease black dudes for having babies with different women, I can tease my brethren, too.)  As for MIA, Tannehill might be Bortles twin.  And, he drags down that offense just the same right now.

NE/SF – Again, finally a predictable game.  Too bad Blount didn’t get in the endzone 3 times.  Everyone else has against SF.  Brady was a risk with that blowout potential, but did very well.  And, Bennett seemed to be in a hell of a spot.  Guess what?  He was!  But, I love to point out that the football isn’t round.  It bounces funny.  If that spot popped up again, I’d run Bennett right back out there.  That lack of usage was an outlier for the matchup.  Don’t suffer the recency bias if Gronk sits again.  Chip Kelly, might want to see which part of the country you want to recruit from.  You won’t be in the NFL much longer.  You really suck as a head coach at this level.  But, then again, get to just under .500 and apparently the contract extensions roll in.  Might want to see what Fisher’s agent is telling ownership down there.  Or maybe the 49ers actually want to win games and fire your ass like they should.

PHI/SEA – Ummmmm, Russell is back.  His mobility is back and that’s 100% of his game.  He’s not a pocket passer.  He’s not a rusher.  He’s a broken play ninja.  Look for teams that can get a pass rush on that crap O-line and make him your GPP QB.  Everyone will spout that he’ll be on the move all day, and you can say “thank you” because that’s his game.  And, stack Baldwin or Graham with him when you do.  Wendell Smallwood (I just broke out into song “Mr. Wendel” and I hated that song in the mid-90s or whenever) is your lead back now.  And, he might be cheap when pricing comes out.  He’s not great, but he just lost all his competition unless Barner becomes “a thing.”

GB/WAS – Ahhhh, our savior game.  I was high on Cousins all week.  Why?  QBs usually score in a tight range of 15-25 pts.  So, I like opting for cheaper ones in good spots.  Nuff said.  It was low risk and Cousins has the upside to do just as much damage as some of the others.  Stacking receivers with him, though, is a gamble.  He has a balanced attack this year.  And, Fat Rob is a thing I guess.  I’ll be looking to him as another mid-priced RB with workload and upside.  GB makes me want to cry for them.  It’s as if there is a sniper in the stands at their games.  I just don’t know what else to say about their fantasy relevance at this point.  One thing is for sure, Rodgers will be chuckin it 40 times in a light game.  Volume is there for him.

If you enjoy this kind of interaction, consider following our team on Twitter.  I’m @ChoppoDong, but we have others.  Look for our other coaches…. , , , , , and a couple others I didn’t see on my timeline to get in here.  Follow us and let’s build a community that leads by teaching and sharing.

Oh, and my little coupon gift is an easy one.  If you decide to become a member and jump into our slack, take advantage or our cheatsheets and player picks for all sports, utilize our Domination Station optimizer that helped two guys build Bahamas lineups, and generally get complete access to our list of coaches, my code is CHOP.  Use it for 20% off the life of your membership.  Seriously, I drop $20/mo to $16/mo for you.  Ummm….look around at lineup sellers and other subscription sites.  We’d clearly rather keep your bankroll in your account than take it for ourselves.  As we add features and incur expenses, I can’t guarantee our price is always $20/mo.  However, I can guarantee your $16/mo never goes up……if you jump now.  It really makes no sense to wait until “maybe next NFL season.”  You might want to do it now.  Just sayin’.

Week 12 Preview

Funky week coming.  Slates of all kinds will emerge.  Bankroll management is key to sticking around so you don’t go busto.   The website has a piece on that topic here.  Many also are asking me if I build one lineup or a few.  Answer to that question here.  Plenty more daily fantasy content on the site for the newer and experienced player to read.

Games to watch:  PIT/IND, ARI/ATL. There will be others, but these stand out as the higher scoring games so far.

I’m watching Zeke with that spread, everything in Indy, DJ in Hotlanta along with both passers and Larry Fitz, Shady McCoy should be back and I’ll be looking his way, Jay Ajayi gets the 49ers, after bashing Gurley he gets the Saints, Brees is at home and favored, more Blount in a heavily favored division game, and the cheapies I mentioned.  Looks like a lot of RBs from which to choose.  That dramatically widens the net we can cast for all players.  This week might be rather spread out in terms of players playing slates and the players within the slates if those RBs give us the options they appear to on the surface.

Stay tuned to us in Slack, and let’s narrow that field down a bit.  Time to earn some more money, Army!  Let’s get it.
