DFS Army’s Kickers Corner
Wow, we are already two weeks done with the NFL season already. I cannot believe how fast NFL goes by given that it is only a weekly sport. Hopefully the first two weeks have made you some money, and if it hasn’t yet hopefully week three is yours. I have had 2 great lineups so far, but sadly not gotten them into the right contests to win big. This week that is all going to change, but before I can look forward, I first want to look back.
Review of Week 2
I had a pretty good week picking kickers, and some of my favorites this week did great. There was one big miss with Myers, but that was why he was listed as GPP. Overall when it comes to picking kickers we will miss from time to time, but keep focusing on the right games. I never thought the Chargers would look that dominate against Jacksonville. What a game though if you picked Chargers Def though. We are lucky that with week three we gain more information on how teams are going to look going forward. That information will only make your picks better and better.
Gano, Tucker, and Sturgis all payed off well this week, and I hope you had them in your LUs. Myers showed us that match ups do not always go as expected. I never like seeing one of my cash kickers getting 2 points, but we can learn from this. I am worried about Jacksonville going forward, but I am also interested in what SD can do. This means I will most likely fade players going against SD, unless they are a proven offense. I will also fully fade the kickers from Jax until they show us they can be an offense. These are the ways we grow, and why we review.
How to Guess Game Flow
I wish I could tell you there is some big secrete out there, but honestly it comes from knowing football. There are a lot of people who make a lot of money by knowing football and game flow. Those people can be found in DFS (ffootballgeek), but they are also found in Vegas, on both sides of the counter. Vegas has made a lot of money by being right about sports games more often than not. Using Vegas is always a smart play, but if you are not sure how to use that information it’s okay. That is what Geek’s Vegas Lines will do for you.
Quick How to Pick a Kicker
If you want to get a jump start before Vegas Lines does come out, make sure to follow these following tips in a short version to save time. If you want to get more involved hit me up on slack (PVAaron) or Twitter (dfsarmypvaaron).
- Pick kickers on teams who are favored to win or be in close high scoring games.
- Pick kickers who have the ability to kick with high accuracy from long ranges.
- Pick kickers who are in domes or where weather is not an issue.
- Worry about price last, focus on ability to score points first.
- Skip doing any thinking and just follow my list.
The Quicker Kicker Picker Upper
Before we get to the picks I want to put in a note on why Miami’s kicker is not on the list. For starters he did not make the list because I am actually not confident in his ability to kick. He has not yet put up any big numbers, or kicks from distance. He has one kick between the 40s, but I would like to see more. I also do not have him because I worry about Cleveland even putting on any kind of resistance to lead to kicks being needed. One more note, while I normally do not worry about weather this far out, keep an eye on the weather.
Overall though you are more than able to play Franks as he gets the match up boost, but he will not be on my radar. If he busts I will be better for it, if he hits, I just have to trust that my picks won’t miss
