We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Houston Astros
Jacob Lopez has a 5.68 ERA, and now he gets an Astros lineup in a hitters’ park with Houston still fighting for the AL West. That’s a pretty easy spot for me to get interested in. The Astros have plenty of power throughout the lineup, and with the division race this tight, I expect them to keep their foot on the gas. I’ll have some shares here.

Atlanta Braves
Eury Perez has been decent with a 4.14 ERA, but the Braves have absolutely crushed him in their limited history, posting a 1.068 OPS in 77 PA. That’s enough BvP for me to pay attention to, especially with Atlanta’s overall upside. This is a tougher matchup than some of the other spots on the slate, but the history is strong enough that I’m willing to go back to the Braves in tournaments.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox are coming off their postseason clincher from yesterday, so there’s certainly no shortage of confidence around this team right now. Tomoyuki Sugano has a 5.36 ERA, which gives Chicago a pretty clear path to putting some runs on the board. I don’t think this will be the first offense everyone goes to, but that’s part of the appeal for tournaments.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona is coming out of Colorado and now needs to take care of business this weekend while also getting some help to sneak into the final Wild Card spot. Casey Mize isn’t someone I’m afraid to attack, especially with the Diamondbacks having that kind of urgency. Coming out of Coors can sometimes make an offense look less appealing by comparison, but Arizona has plenty of power and needs every win. I’ll definitely have some tournament exposure.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are always in play, and Yunior Marte gives them another opportunity to keep the offense rolling against a younger pitcher. Los Angeles has plenty of motivation to keep its momentum going heading into the postseason, and this is the kind of matchup where the ceiling is always there. They’ll probably draw plenty of attention, but I’m not looking to get cute with them.
