We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Arizona Diamondbacks
Mason Adams comes in with a 5.03 ERA, and now he has to deal with the altitude in Colorado. That’s enough to get me interested in Arizona, especially with the extra power we get from the environment. This is exactly the kind of spot where the Diamondbacks can put together a big inning, and I’ll have some tournament exposure.

Atlanta Braves
Andrew Abbott has had some really ugly outings this season, including two of his last four starts where he allowed seven earned runs. He’s sitting at a 4.70 ERA overall, and now he gets an Atlanta lineup that’s still trying to get everything lined up for October. The Braves have enough firepower to take advantage of another Abbott meltdown, and this is a tournament stack I’m definitely interested in.
Colorado Rockies
Merrill Kelly is always attackable when he’s carrying a 5.00 ERA and 1.47 WHIP, and putting this game in Colorado certainly doesn’t make me want to back off. The Rockies have plenty of power that can play up at altitude, and Kelly has been giving hitters enough opportunities to make something happen. Coors will bring ownership, but yes, I’m still interested.

Milwaukee Brewers
Aaron Nola has just been bad this season, with a 4.40 ERA, and I don’t see any reason to be afraid of the Brewers here. Milwaukee has been one of the better offenses and they’re getting ready for a deep postseason run, so there’s plenty of motivation to keep pushing. Nola is the type of pitcher who can give up a crooked number if he doesn’t have it, and I’m happy to take some shots with the Brewers.
Chicago White Sox
Seth Lugo has a 5.06 ERA on the season, and Chicago has plenty of reason to keep the pressure on with the White Sox just one game behind Cleveland in the AL Central. This isn’t the sexiest offense on the slate, but that can actually make it more appealing in tournaments. If Lugo continues to struggle, Chicago has an opportunity to put up a big number in a spot where the urgency is certainly there.
