We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Chicago Cubs
Janson Junk has a 4.50 ERA and generally isn’t going very deep into games, which is more than enough to get me interested in the Cubs here. Chicago is fighting for every win as they try to secure a Wild Card spot, and this is a matchup they should be able to take advantage of. The Cubs’ offense is always worth considering in tournaments, and I’m happy to go back to them here.

Atlanta Braves
The Braves are getting very close to clinching the NL East, and Brandon Williamson with a 5.56 ERA gives them a pretty nice opportunity to keep things moving in that direction. Atlanta has plenty of upside throughout the lineup, and I like the idea of getting to them while they still have something meaningful to play for. This is a spot where I’ll have some shares.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Kyle Freeland has a 6.38 ERA and, well, the game is in Colorado. Yes, please. The Diamondbacks have plenty of capable bats, and this is exactly the kind of environment where I want to have some exposure. Coors will obviously make them popular, but I’m not going to overthink this one.

Seattle Mariners
Cristian Javier has been better lately, but the overall numbers still leave plenty to be desired with a 5.21 ERA on the season. Seattle also has a pretty big opportunity here against a division rival, with the Mariners looking to put a dent in their postseason hopes. I don’t mind this as a tournament spot at all, especially if Javier’s recent improvement keeps ownership down.
Colorado Rockies
Michael Soroka has actually been solid for most of the season, so this isn’t quite as obvious as some of the other Coors spots. That said, he can absolutely be gotten to — he gave up six runs in just three innings a couple of starts ago — and now he has to navigate Colorado. The Rockies are always capable of putting together a big game in this park, and I’ll take some small tournament shots.
