The Christmas weekend of games brought back scoring, which was the best gift any DFS Player could ask for… especially if you’re sitting atop the leaderboards with the highest score in the contest. That was the case for DK user Steven6243103 who scored 249 points to take down the Millionaire Maker contest on DraftKings. How did he do it? Let’s take a look.

A Lineup that had Breece Hall and Amari Cooper in it was bound to make it to the top of the leaderboards as Hall was 23% rostered, and Cooper was 11%. Hall was a one off play, and the best one on the slate at that, but Cooper was part of a team stack, and a lineup that was heavily correlated. This entire lineup had 7 players stacked across 3 games for a total of 189.82 FPTS.

By the very contrarian play of Osborn under 1%, Gibbs at 6%, Lockett at 7%, and Bucs DST at 7%, this lineup was able to stay contrarian with a total team ownership of 118%. This build ate chalk of over 20% in three spots and yet was able to find pivots at 4 other spots to stay below the seasonal average ownership of 124%
Top Leverage Plays
Gibbs at 6%
Gibbs being this low owned in a game with such a high vegas total was crazy to me. Such a great pivot off of the chalk plays going against tough run defenses.
Osborn at 0.69%
This was one of those plays that really worked out as a punt – mainly because the number 2 wide receiver and starting tight end got hurt so Osborn took full advantage of his elevated opportunities.
Bucs DST at 7%
I think most of the field would’ve been on this play if Lawrence was ruled out. Still, it was a solid play and they ended up being the highest scoring DST.

This was a perfectly balanced lineup with no player above $7,600. What you have is many players who have the ceiling of an 8K+ player but are priced to their floor – Gibbs, Hall, Cooper, Evans, Lockett, etc. Evans has been the player we’ve seen have that ceiling the most this year and is priced accordingly. Most Milly Maker winning lineups have 1-2 players hit over 6X their salary and this one had 3!
Ceiling
The old adage in Large Field GPP’s like the Milly Maker is you need 250 points to win; That hasn’t been true most of the season as we have 11 weeks of a score with less than 250 Fantasy Points. However, it was true in Week 17 and it’s still a target to shoot for when building your lineups. With 2 weeks left in the 2023 NFL Regular Season, the average winning Score is 240.45 Fantasy Points.
