Adesanya $9700 vs. Strickland $6500

Okay, Okay, don’t kill me, but I am going to give some ownership to Strickland! Do I think he wins, probably not. However, I think he is much better than the $6500 price tag he has. My goal is always to capture value when it is on the table. Sean keeps saying “I am standing and banging”, but he  wants to win and does have some ability to land takedowns. For example, he landed four Takedowns in his win over Uriah Hall, three on Court McGee, and one on Imavov.

Izzy is calling his shot here and saying he is going to knock out Strickland. For DK purposes, he better be correct if he is going to have a chance of being optimal. Historically, his volume prevents him from having a high ceiling in DK. The highest he has scored is 126, with an early finish. Sean Strickland is adamant and will be hard to put away.  He has a better chance than the books are giving him. Still not much of a chance, but better than a $6500 dog. Strickland has a great pace and conditioning, his best chance is to clip Izzy late. That said, I like his ceiling for his price in a win. The pick is Izzy.

Kape $9300 vs. dos Santos $6900

Kape is priced way up and has scored 72, 131, and 108 in his last three wins. At a closer look, all of those opponents have gone on to lose more after fighting Kape. His last three wins have been trash cans, and before the three wins, he was 0-2 in the UFC. He is fighting an unknown, undefeated Dos Santos who is making his UFC Debut. However, he looks perfect on film and is quick with the submission game. Kape has lost submission and could be on the losing end of one here. Finally, I will ensure I am ALL IN on the fight and over the field on both guys. The argument is a CORE play for me due to the ceilings. My pick is the dog!

UFC 293 Pick: dos Santos $6900

Jenkins $8700 vs. Mariscal $7500

I’m going with Mariscal here, as he showed a lot in his recent win over Peak. He is fighting Jack Jenkins who has a wrestling background and can accumulate the takedowns. Look for Jenkins to get it to the ground and try to control the fight from there. His scoring in DK sucks. I am going to Fade Jenkins completely. For Mariscal, he has LFA losses to guys like Gillespie, Brito, and Steve Garcia. He has largely been a kill-or-be-killed fighter, making me like him even more. He knows the plan for a wrestler and comes out hot with the striking. Therefore, this will be a true DOG or PASS spot.

UFC 293 Pick: Mariscal $7500

FULL FADE OF THE CARD! 

Mullarkey $8900 vs. Makdessi $7300

Mullarkey is 4-2 over his last 6 with two R2 TKO losses to Naimov and Jalin Turner. His opponent, Makdessi, is 3-2 over his last five, losing decisions to Trinaldo and Haqparast. The line is fair, as Makdessi has been fairly mediocre over his career and is getting up there in age. He does have an 85% TD defense over a large sample but has a 69% striking defense. However, Mullarkey looks to wrestle. Therefore, why would I not pick another dog? I like the value of this line so much that I will bet Makdessi straight. IMO, it will be two 9k guys in the optimal, which will mean more need for the 7k value plays. Neither fighter gets above 90 pts in DK without a finish.
