Jameis Winston (QB, NO) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winston came out in Week 1 and struggled to get things going against the Atlanta Falcons. Once things picked up he started to look a lot better and finished with 21.7-fantasy points. Two of his best pass catchers were also battling health issues: Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara.

This Week 2 game is at home, indoors and features a tight 3-point spread, always something you like to see. In the last seven meetings these two teams have hit the 50-point total five times. The opportunity for a shootout is there, although the low 44.5 game-total from oddsmakers projects that is an unlikely event.

Tampa allowed 17.3-FPPG to the quarterback a season ago. Last week against Dallas was a walk in the park for Tampa given the Cowboys’ injury woes. I like Winston to keep things going for fantasy purposes.

Winston is available in 54-percent of Yahoo leagues and 64-percent of ESPN leagues heading into Week 2 waivers.

Matt Ryan (QB, IND) @Jacksonville Jaguars

He threw the ball 50 times last week for 352 yards, one touchdown, one interception and one fumble lost. Not the best start to a season but Houston could be more talented than the public’s current opinion. Ryan likely won’t be throwing the ball 50 times in Week 2. He should be able to bring quality fantasy results, however.

In 2021, the Jags allowed the eighth-most points to the quarterback position: 17.8-PPG. Last week against Carson “Turdly” Wentz, this Jacksonville team struggled to contain the quarterback position once again. Wentz finished the day with four touchdowns and 27.7-fantasy points, good enough to be the QB3 overall in Week 1.

Start Ryan up this week against Jacksonville as it seems their defense still struggles against the quarterback position. Ryan is only on 43-percent of Yahoo rosters and 24-percent of ESPN rosters.

Justin Fields (QB, CHI) @Green Bay Packers

It was a rainy, puddle-filled mess on Soldier Field in Week 1 and it ended with a slip-n-slide victory for the Bears. The offense obviously struggled in their quest towards victory against San Francisco, but Fields should be on your radar to stream in Week 2.

While it was not pretty during last week’s monsoon, Fields should be able to find some running room against Green Bay. He finished Week 1 with 28 rushing yards on 11 attempts. If Chicago were to trail against Green Bay it would add even more rushing attempts too. Additionally, Fields will presumably throw the ball more than 17 times.

Green Bay struggled on offense and defense in their first game of 2022. If they don’t get their offense healthy for Week 2 those struggles could compound against the Bears, which could provide more opportunities for the below-average Bears offense. Green Bay also allowed 17.5-FPPG to the quarterback position last year; last week Green Bay allowed 19.1-fantasy points to Kirk Cousins who cruised through the game.

The last two meetings against Green Bay, Fields finished with 14.3 and 20.4-fantasy points. Fields is on 61-percent of Yahoo rosters and 47-percent of ESPN rosters.
