Cup Series Race Weekend
Last week was one of the best races we have seen in a very long time. No gimmicks, no track changes, just race cars battling. That gives me a lot of hope for this weekend as well. For the past three seasons, NASCAR Cup races at LVMS have essentially seen drivers lined up like a train, with zero passing, and very little off throttle time. If last week is any indication, then this could be a fantastic race. Turn four has always been a bit tricky, especially at the Xfinity level, and I am hopefully we get the same for the Cup series. Because of the progressive banking at LVMS and the hope for off throttle time, we have the perfect setup for lots of passing and good racing. This also means essentially throwing away a lot of the data from the last few years.
As for DFS, it is hard to exactly know how this race will play out. There is always the chance that we see clean air be massive for the leader. Normally, for a 400 mile intermediate race I would recommend playing at least two dominators. However, given the possibility of more passing, plus pit road shakeups, We might want to adjust out expectations for how many laps a driver can dominate. Another huge factor in this, is that in past years there were very few natural cautions. This led to extremely long green flag runs and thus allowing for one or two drivers to crush in the laps led area. I anticipate many more cautions for spins, just like last week thus giving us more opportunity for pit stops, or restarts to shake up the field. Practice and qualifying will be huge this week so be sure to follow along and look at that DFS Army research station.

NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS Outlook
Vegas historically sees a couple long green flag runs with a handle of cautions sprinkled throughout the race. Long run speed is important as tire fall off is prevalent on the long runs so when we get. We usually look for 2 dominators here at Vegas that share the majority of fast laps and laps led. With so many changes in the offseason it will be important to pay close attention to practice to see where teams stand. This track rewards the absolute best of equipment. So don’t look for any top finishes from outside the elite teams. Gibbs, JRM and, Kaulig should be expected to control the top 10. Unlike the Cup race, we can lean heavily on past races and results. We have qualifying the day before the race which is a big help for lineup building and content.
One major thing to note for this weekend is that Xfinity Series teams must run the same car as they did in California. Drivers that were involved in crashes last week, I.e. Brandon Jones, will go to a back up and start at the rear of the field. Be sure to pay attention to which cars are going to the rear this week.

NASCAR Truck Series DFS Outlook
The Kyle Busch show is back in the Truck Series for the first of five races in 2022. Anytime KB shows up in the Truck Series he is the favorite to dominate and win. John Hunter Nemechek, who drives for Kyle in the #4 truck, was the only driver we have seen go toe to toe and beat him. He did that on multiple occasions last year, including here last March. We should absolutely expect these two drivers to dominate and control the race, however, there is a new Toyota body that could affect them in ways we haven’t seen yet. Vegas runs relatively wide open for the Trucks so if they are off a little with hat new body then we could see an upset winner. All lineup building will revolve around those two this week. We will play at most two dominators in this short race.
