Review
Before we proceed I am going to refresh you on the lineup building approaches for different size GPP tournaments used in the Article 1 & Article 2:

300 Lineups
For the purpose of this study, Marley’s cheat Sheet is used in order to execute the following steps:

- Marley 4 Star fight favorite receives a ❤️
- Lock Marley favorite Fighter on the card 100%
- Full Fade the 2 fighters from the worse fight according to Cheat Sheet
- 50% max Exposure
- 0% Randomization
- 300 lineups
- 1 unique
150 Lineups
For the purpose of this study, Marley’s cheat Sheet is used in order to execute the following steps:
- Marley 5 Star fight favorite fighter get’s a 😍
- Marley 4 Star fight favorite receives a ❤️
- Lock Marley favorite Fighter on the card 100%
- 0% Randomization
- 150 lineups
- 1 unique
- Adjust Max own to 70%
- Fade 2-4 dud fights or fighters
- Lock 1 Stud

Differentiation
Above are the protocols for the 300 entry approach as well as the 150 approach, and it is important to note that there were 3 adjustments made between to two approaches.
Wisdom Bomb!
When approaching the concept, the goal of this research was captured in a quote from Kevin “The Geek” when he said to me, “It is all about creating a winning approach that is repeatable”
Incorporating change is a skill!
In order to unpack the quote above, we will utilize a past professional experience in order to understand the importance of ensuring minimal changes between slate size as it relates to GPP MME tournaments.
Learning to Lead
I worked under a superintendent by the name of Jeff Smith in my tenure as an Assistant Principal for Hampton City Schools. He may be the best leader I have observed in my life.
Why do I say this?
Dr. Smith demonstrated the ability to maintain continuity within his instructional systems while also considering the need for minimal changes within the organization.
Systems
Dr. Smith was a proponent of systems based thinking, and he never wavered from the individual systems he wanted to develop among the different content areas. However, he did make minor changes within those systems to to ensure he was considering the variability that exists among content, students and teaching delivery.
Proof in the Pudding
Dr. Smith managed to take Hampton City Schools from one of the most at risk districts in the state to 100% accredited in under 5 years, and he was nominated for contend for National Superintendent of the year.
Back to Lineups
Finally, the purpose of this study was to test that logic of “small changes” in order to help win money! Furthermore, we can be highly successful differentiating and attacking the different tournament sizes.
Building 60 Lineups
You will notice we kept the same theme and made some minor adjustments for 60 entries:
- Marley 5 Star fight favorite fighter get’s a 😍
- Marley 4 Star fight favorite receives a ❤️
- Lock Marley favorite Fighter on the card 100%
- 0% Randomization
- 60 lineups
- 1 unique
- Adjust Max own to 70%
- Ensure your pool is 18-20 Player (Fade more Duds)
- Lock 1 Stud
Slight Change
The only change made for 60 lineups was to fade more duds as it handcuffs the domination station to try to lock more than 1 player. Finally, keeping 1 lock and fading more duds showed to be beneficial across Backtesting:
| Fight
|
Nuts | First Test | Second Test |
| UFC 271 | 703.57 | 643.57 | 643.57 |
| Kittar Vs. Chiadze | 665.57 | 665.57 | 665.57 |
| Walker Vs. Hill | 630.33 | 624.95 | 624.95 |
| UFC 270 | 745 | 692 | 692 |
| Holloway Vs. Rodriguez | 740.07 | 740.07 | 740.07 |
| Santos Vs. Walker | 579 | 578.41 | 578.41 |
| Daukas Vs. Lewis | 669.07 | 646.68 | 646.6 |
| Font Vs. Aldo | 697.37 | 650.68 | 650.68 |
| UFC 268 | 635.76 | 565.37 | 565.37 |
| UFC 267 | 631.4 | 624.19 | 624.19 |
Discussion
The results above demonstrate a 60% success rate across 10 fights, and the process did not change for fading fights in that the Cheat sheet and Research station were utilized. Specifically, reading Marley’s picks and who he has the most confidence in was helpful in picking the lock for each slate. Also, further investigation into the cheat sheet helps to develop an understanding of players to fade when it is time to make tough decisions.
Closing Thoughts
The final article was designed around the idea that many enter into MME playing not wanting to spend a lot of money on 150 lineups (also, not a good idea for the bankroll). The change that should be considered for those building 60 lineups for MMA is the number of fighters that the Domination Station was brought down to before generating the lineups. It is strongly encouraged to get the fighter count number down 18-20 for optimal results using this approach (Again, my opinion for what it is worth). In conclusion, the intent of this installation of articles was to provide all tournament players with a new and repeatable approach to “taking down” tournaments!
