What’s up guys it is your boy @LowOwnedWR here to break down the chalkiest NFL plays at each position for DK and see if they are worth everything you are paying for them. Cash games are all about finding value and squeezing every last drop out of the salary you are using. Cash is also about understanding what you are building for, our goal here is to be better than 50% of the field minimum, we are not trying to win GPPs here.
When that is understood it makes building your LU easier because you begin to understand that you are trying to make sure your DFS build is based around value and pricing and not upside and stacks, you are going to let other players make the mistake of being cute and severely crippling their LU and over the course of the season you are going to be up $$$ from letting others hurt themselves and putting yourself in positions to succeed. Having good projections is a BIG boost as well.

QBs:
Jalen Hurts ($6700): We saw what could be of Hurts in a positive game script last week and it was not what we had hoped it would be. Luckily against the Chargers this week he has a much higher chance of playing from behind than the previous matchup against the Lions. I prefer Lamar this week but if you need some salary for your build Hurts is the lowest I am willing to go. SMASH

Lamar Jackson ($7300): Lamar, in my opinion, should be auto locked into your LUs this week. Despite being the 5th highest priced QB he is in 2nd this week for projected points, only behind Josh Allen by .1, while being almost $1000 cheaper than him. With the Ravens passing more than in years past, I think Lamar’s ceiling is up exponentially and I think this is the week he does it on the main slate. SMASH
Josh Allen ($8200): With Lamar projecting just as good and being $1000 less there is no reason to go to Allen this week. PASS
Pivots: If you are feeling lucky, Jordan Love is only $4400 and draws the Cheifs this week and he allows you to get more studs in your LU and is almost projecting for 4x.
RBs:
Ezekiel Elliott ($7000): Dallas is implied the 2nd most points on the slate behind Buffalo and are also the 2nd highest favored team at -10, also behind Buffalo. With Zeke only being $7000 and the Cowboys being heavy favorites and having shown that if they are not forced to pass the ball they are very willing not to. This is shaping up to be a great week to feed Zeke. SMASH
James Robinson ($6400): Robinson is not even top 15 in fantasy points per dollar for RBs this week and playing him just leaves too many points on the board for me to be comfortable with him as a cash game option. PASS
Alvin Kamara ($8200): With no more Jameis, I can see Kamara going back to seeing the target share they we have come accustomed to him having in years past. With lack of options to pay up for on this slate if you are looking to jam a stud, you can do a lot worse than Kamara who is projecting for an optimal week. SMASH
Pivots: Austin Ekeler has a good matchup against the Eagles and has scored less than 20 fantasy points only twice the whole year, with a lack of high-salary players to pay up for, Ekeler is my favorite RB on the slate.
WRs:
Devante Adams ($8200): With no Rodgers, I feel Adams ceiling takes too much of hit for him to potentially be the player taking up the most salary on your roster. PASS
Tyreek Hill ($7900): With Aaron Rodgers missing and Jordan Love getting thrown to the wolves, I can see the Cheifs getting a good amount of possesions this week and we know they will throw the ball regardless of the game script. With no Kupp and a Rodgers-less Devante Adams, Hill is really the only WR in this salary tier to pay up for this week. SMASH
Brandin Cooks ($6100): After the first 3 weeks of the season, Cooks has seen just 1 game where he has received over 7 targets. I am not looking to pay over $6000 for a player on an offense that could theoretically come out flat for the entire game due to his QB and those surrounding him on the offense being absolutely terrible. PASS
Pivots: $5700 for Amari Cooper is a ludicrous price and I am locking and loading Amari at that number while the Cowboys are almost implied to score 30 points. Jaylen Waddle has gotten over 10 targets in 2 out of his last 3 games and looks to be in a much more fantasy-friendly role with Tua at the helm, partner that with no Devante Parker and them facing the Texans, this has the making of a good week for Waddle. Hunter Renfrow is the only WR on the slate projecting for over 3x and at $4800 he is nice relief to try and go get one of those stud RBs or Lamar. Tee Higgins remains at only $5300 which is criminally low for how good the Bengals have been and how much they have been passing the ball the last few weeks.
TEs:
Mike Gesicki ($4900): With no Parker, Gesicki gets much more snaps outside which is where he excels, but with better pay down options and the best position to pay down for in cash I am not looking to roster him at $5000 even against the Texans. PASS
Travis Kelce ($7000): Kelce is still getting funneled targets, the Cheifs just haven’t been putting up the points to get him the TDs to pay off at this price. With them facing a back up QB this week I see the offense being on the field a good bit more than normal and are looking for them to return to even close to the form of the Chiefs of the past. This is about as cheap as Kelce is going to get so if there ever was a week to play him I would heavily think about it this week. SMASH
Darren Waller ($6200): I prefer to just spend the extra $800 to get Kelce or just pay down entirely. PASS
Pivots: Albert Okwuegbunam is in line for an increase role this week with no Noah Fant. He is also an athletic freak and $100 above minimum salary. For the value he brings and what he lets you do in your build he is my favorite TE to go to this week.
Defense:
Dolphins ($3100): Going up against the Texans should merit you being higher than $3100 with how low the ceiling is on Houston’s offense. SMASH
Browns ($2500): I love this price tag for the Browns but even after losing to the Jets last week, I still have faith the Bengals are a legit offense and do not want to play any defenses against them. PASS
Cowboys ($3300): Just pay the $200 less and go down to Miami if you are paying this much for a defense in cash. PASS
Pivots: The Kansas City Chiefs are only $2300 and are facing a back up QB in his first NFL start since coming into the league, at almost min price, the Chiefs are my favorite defense on the slate.
