Canadian Fantasy Football (CFL) can be incredibly lucrative if you know how to manipulate the roster requirements and scoring. Daily fantasy players (with little experience) can profit quickly with just some basic information because very little is written about CFL inside the industry. My name is DFS Spreadsheets (@dfs_spreadsheet on Twitter) I’m a data analyst by trade, and love digging into the intricacies that give our players advantages no one else can deliver.

CFL DFS Week Seven – Quick Glance
DFS Army had another member finish top 3in the big $10 contest on Draftkings. That’s the third time in six weeks so far, we’re rollin’! The data and insights going into our CFL Research Station provides an edge that other sites simply don’t have. A lot can happen in a week for Canadian fantasy football. I won’t be updating this article with any roster changes etc but will be providing updates in our Discord channels.
Calgary @ Hamilton
Calgary heads into Hamilton and faces David Watford making his first career start. He’s been in the league since 2018 but has only attempted 50 career passes, completing 26 of them for 320 yards, 1 TD and 2 interceptions. I don’t mind using some of the Hamilton wide receivers in GPP as Calgary allows the most DK points to WR on the slate.
Hamilton is allowing over 106 yards per game rushing. This could be a spot where Calgary can get the running game going, especially if they lead (and they should) for most of the game.
Going For Two
In this section I will identify two of my top CFL plays from each game based on a couple of metrics that I have created (full Value and Ratings data is available to our VIPS in my weekly cheat sheet and Research Station):
- Value: Player data and performance from multiple categories weighted against the player’s weekly Draftkings salary
- Rating: A metric that measures how a player ranks in various categories vs players of the same position
- Kamar Jorden 6900 CGY
- Papi White 2500 HAM
Toronto @ Saskatchewan
Riders’ QB Fajardo is listed as the starter but has yet to be fully cleared after leaving the game last week with an apparent head injury. The Riders are thin at wr so they should lean on Kyran Moore.
For Toronto, I really like what RB (wr on DK) DJ Foster has shown so far in limited opportunities. He gets a Riders’ defence that is battling injuries.
Going For Two
- Kyran Moore 7700 SSK
- Dj Foster 4100 TOR
BC @ Montreal
My game of the week and it’s not even close. Both teams have shown the ability to highly explosive lately. This is the game that I will have the most exposure to.
Montreal is allowing the second most DK points to wr on the slate and BC is allowing the fourth most. Montreal ground game gets a great matchup as BC is allowing the most DK points to rb on the slate.
Going For Two
- Lucky Whitehead 7200 BC
- Jake Wieneke 6500 MTL
Winnipeg @ Edmonton
Things just got UGLY for Edmonton real quick. They just lost starting QB Trevor Harris (6 game injury list) and they get to face the cream of the crop Winnipeg Blue Bombers in three of their next four games.
Love the Bombers defence going up against Taylor Cornelius who has never attempted a CFL pass. Good luck kid.
Going For Two
- Winnipeg DST 5100
- Kenny Lawler 6300 WPG
