Road America
For the first time since 1956, we will see the NASCAR Cup Series compete at Road America. NASCAR legend Tim Flock won that day and has been the only Cup winner at the track. The Xfinity Series has been racing at the track for about a decade now and have been putting on great races since day one. At 4.048 miles long it is by far the longest race track NASCAR races on. For context, it is well over half a mile longer than COTA is where they raced last month. Due to its length, the number of laps per stage and for these races are incredibly small. Fuel Mileage is a common concern here for the Xfinity Series races and I would imagine this will matter for the Cup race as well.

NASCAR Cup Series DFS Outlook
Since we have qualifying we shouldn’t expect too many great place diff plays. We should expect most teams to qualify in their correct spots which will leave us with very little in terms of obvious place differential plays. Also, since there are only 62 laps, 20-25% of which are likely to be run under caution, dominator points are borderline pointless as well. Pit strategy and fuel mileage are almost a guarantee to come into play since teams will pit as soon as the pit window opens, or if there is a caution right before the pit window we will likely see teams try to stretch it. From past memory, I can think of 3 different Xfinity races here where leaders were running out of gas in closing laps leading to different winners such as Brendan Gaughn and Jeremy Clements. For both sites, we will look to play the most top finishers as possible. If you play a lot of FanDuel then you will be a bit more familiar with how to play DK this week. The biggest issue will be pricing and being able to build deep lineups. Larson, Elliott, and Truex will be the best plays but they will be ridiculously expensive. Lineup building is usually easier on FD since their salary system and 5 driver roster rarely make you need to play any bottom tier drivers. DK on the other hand will force you to play some lower end drivers if you are looking to get 2 of the 3 top plays in a lineup. Bottom line is try building lineups with as many top finishers as possible and potentially sacrifice a top driver to get a deeper lineup on DK.

NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS Outlook
I am not going to waste your time saying much different than what was said for the Cup race. Both races will be played the exact same with maybe a couple of better place differential options available. We will have Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick in the field for the race and Ty Gibbs will race a 5th Gibbs car for the race. We will also see Boris Said return to the series in the 61 car and Kaz Grala will be in the 31 for Jordan Anderson. There are a few other drivers and team changes as well so it is important to pay attention to who is in what car to understand their upsides. There are 43 cars on the entry list but only 36 will make the race. That means SEVEN cars will not qualify and will not be playable on DK. Make sure to check for this and not to have them in your lineups.
